Hanging Photo Frame On The Wall

I am thinking of hanging up some picture frames on the wall. I have tried installing some wall shelf on my own, and lets just say I am not very good at it and I now have a loopsided bookshelf.

I was just wondering if you guys would be kind enough to share tips on the best way on how to hang frames on the wall, starting with which tools to use, which nail/hook, to how to measure & ensure that the frame is 'straight', etc. I need it to be precise as I will have a couple of frames up that wall so any lack-of-precision will be quite obvious.

Appreciate your help! Thanks!

PJ Laugh Fest, 2011

Hi guys, just wanted to share with you this.

Had a change of attending the premier of the God Of Carnage (the first show to kickstart PJ Laugh Fest 2011)

I will summarize what I have wrote on my blog (but feel free to have a look here for a more detailed read http://kathlynn-diary.blogspot.com/2011/04...e-dieu-du.html)

Strip away civility, and what you get is the human animal; or as Megat’s character Micheal puts it bluntly – Neanderthals. That’s the message behind God Of Carnage, the comedy play that will kick off the PJ Live Arts’ PJ Laugh Fest.

The cast includes Micheal (by Megat Sharizal), his wife Veronica (by Maya Tan), Annette (Lina "Kopitiam" Teoh) and her husband who’s annoyingly attached to his handphone, Alan (by Will Quah).

In the play, two children – Benjamin (son of Annette and Alan) and Henry (son of Veronica and Michael) – get into an argument. Benjamin hits Henry with a stick, knocking out two of Henry’s teeth.

Their parents meet to discuss this incident, and the evening begins in a amicable and civilised manner. However, it very quickly degenerates and the hope of having to resolve the situation diplomatically slowly fades. With screaming and shouting and hurling of accusations and rage, the mask that each of the character puts on slowly stripped off layer by layer.

We, the audiences, watched in laughters as the facade of civility shatter as the cast wreaks havoc and tosses the living room in disarray and all hell break lose in the most hilarious manner (a lil alcohol always helps heighten things up don’t they!). Parent behaving like kids (or worse than kids for that matter)

The show is intensely physical – especially the role played by Lina who running, jumping, screaming on top of her lungs and also vomiting (yes, you got me right – vomiting!). It was so intense that I had to wince in hope that Lina doesn’t fall flat on her face or have a wardrobe malfunction while doing those intense acts. She was wearing a 3 (or 3.5 inch) heel and a sexy black number, so the chances of it happening was quite high!

However, I must say that it was brilliantly choreographed and even at such short practice time (of three weeks we later found out during Q&A at the end of the show), the cast manage to pull it off seamlessly.

BRAVO indeed to the fantastic four!

There are plenty of other shows, check out the timetable & pricing on PJLA's website!

I would love to have an indoor herb garden! Well, a 'garden' may be too big a word, but I would love to have a lil corner on my window still where I can have some pots of herbs.

Now I have a few questions

1) what type of herbs would be suitable for Malaysia climate
- just to share, I have a friend who has grown dill (which is doing well), I've also seen in a local market a guy selling thyme & lavender, but not sure how well it will continue to grow

2) where can I find these potted herb plants? Sg Buloh? Any specific shops?

Thanks!

I am looking for a gift for my dad, who is obsessed with horses, being born in the year of the horse himself.

I saw one painting, with three horses in it.

Now, I am familiar with paintings of 8 horses and whatever the underlying reasons are, I know it is good for the Chinese.

But three? Now, that I have not heard. Does it have any meaning to it? Tried googling, but nothing pops out. Now I am not sure whether I should get that for him.

Just wanted to check with LYN forumers if you guys know anything bout it!

Thanks alot.

xoxo
(Banana) Daughter-in-distress

Hi. My wedding is coming real soon and I actually have this idea of using a "photobooth" concept & taking poloriod pics of my guest for them to sign at the back.

It will be something similiar to these type of pics (hopefully my guest will be fun enuf/sporting enuf)

http://www.brettbuchananweddings.com/front...photo-booth-06/

Since I only know two types of poloroid cameras - i.e. instax 210 & instax mini, I do need advise on whether they are suitable to be used in such circumstances.....

I wanted instax 210, but my cousin says instax mini will do... am not sure if the size will be appropriate or not...

Pls pls pls help!?!

Thanks in advance!

In Pursuit Of....

I have a list of furnitures to look for, and the clock is tickin fast (I have a deadline to meet). Would appreciate the help of LYN forumers who can help suggest places where I can get these.

Prefer that of a good (but not necessary extremely superior) quality, that comes with a reasonable price tag (that doesn't burn a hole in my already holey pocket).

1) Single bedframe & bed - for guestroom.
2) Wardrobe (approx 2ft(w)*6ft(l)*8ft(h)) - for guest room
3) Sidetable - for guest room
4) Cabinet for file or something functional to that line - for study room
5) Sidetable & coffee table - for living room
6) Consol table (something slick & slim) - for living room
7) Dressing table - for m/bedroom
8) Side lamp table - for m/bedroom

Basically almost the whole house furniture!

I've tried LDP furniture shop & have a quick look at Ikea, but wherelse can I find these things?

Thanks in advance

I am actually lookin for someone who can help me out (I will pay of course) in doing up a simple Flash animation (not longer than 10mins). I have this idea of showing the “story of our lives” as part of my wedding entertainment.

Something similar to http://www.youtube.com/user/ kakitoon#grid/user/ C84046BC314B50E8 or
http://filmman-video.blogspot.com/search/l...oon%20Animation

Anyone here knows anyone who can help me out?

BIG THANKS!
Lighting

Since I will be re-doing the wiring at my house, the contractor asked me to mark out the spots where I want my lights to be. Currently, the house is using flourescent lights, and I plan to switch to downlights (those embedded into the flat plaster ceiling - i do not plan to do those L Box and stuff like that, just a plain flat plaster ceiling).

I read somewhere that the rule of thumb is to have the lights 1m apart from the wall & about 1.5m - 2m apart for each light. Is there any truth to that?

Also, any recomendation on what lights to use/not to use?

I have a high ceiling living room that goes up to the 2nd floor (those who have seen the 1.5 story USJ house would know what I mean). Instead of using chandeliers, is there an alternative to iluminate my living room? Suggestions/share of experiences are very much welcome!

Many thanks in advance!
