Legal actions on Overdue Payment?

Hello

I have a situation that needs all your kind advice on.
Well this customer bought a Sofa from me last year around September 2009 and he still have some unsettled outstanding balance around RM1200.
I've tried to call him numerous time and sending letters but to no avail. It seems he just kept avoiding me.
It's been almost a year now and i'm really out of ideas on what to do next.

He seems legit and trustworthy at first cause he works at JPJ. Didnt expect for it to turn up like this.
Please advice if there is any legal actions i can take or who should i report to regarding such cases? What can be done?

Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have.
