Hi,

As per topic, would love some opinions here.

I’ve went over to gsc maxx and compare it with imax 2D before, and it’s clear to me imax is the winner due to its clarity. Both Maxx and imax also having big screen, but somehow I felt imax picture is much sharper.

I read from the Internet the mbo starling big screen uses new digital projector which is supposed to be more sharper and clearer. Anyone compare it before?

Am thinking whether I should watch the Pacific rim uprising in which cinema.

Hi,

Curious to find out to those existing tenants that stay at the top floor of a condo and usually there will be a water tank on top of this top floor.

1) will it be noisy since water tank from there?
2) will it be heaty since sun shine directly to the top?
3) heard common issue of water leakage direct to this top floor, hence usually advisable not to take?

Hope to get some inputs from the forumers here.

Thanks.

since working, been kinda lost touch to the music genre, and I can't even know where should i start.

sometimes at late night, some radio station will just air those non stop music (instrumental) where sort of like disco type/techno type. the beat that keeps you going, you will nice and relax and wanna dance a little.

what genre do we call this? and any recommendation album out there?

wanna find some to buy and listen during rest time.

Electric bills for landed property

Hi,

As per above, I would like to find out what's the average usage for your meter bill. Reason I'm doing this survey because I'm using old analogue meter and was about to change it to digital.

My current usage is only RM40-50 for a double storey landed house. I think my main electric usage is my water heater, around 5-10 mins a day, once in a while air cond usage (probably 1-2 hours a day max). The rest should be pretty standard like TV, fridge, electric saving plaster ceiling light bulbs, fans, which I don't think will consume much electricity.

Now, my friends told me that if I were to change to electric meter, it can easily cost RM70-80 with the same usage, since my old one meter is kinda old, hence meter also jalan more slowly.

For those who are using digital meter, once you take your poll choices, good to share with me on your usage type here also?

Kia Rondo 2013

http://paultan.org/2013/04/02/kia-carens-seoul-2013/

The Kia Carens was one of the highlights of the Kia stand at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show as the compact MPV was domestically launched at the event, unveiled alongside the Kia Cub Concept that we covered earlier. The Carens is built as both a 5-seater and a 7-seater, and it may look compact but it actually has a pretty long 2,750mm wheelbase, making it a C-segment MPV.

Four engines are specified for the European market, two diesel and two petrol units. The oil burner is a 1.7L lump, with two tunes, 115 PS and 260 Nm in the lower tune, and 136 PS and 330 Nm in the higher tune. The petrol engines use gasoline direct injection, producing 135 PS and 165 Nm from a 1.6 litre GDI as seen in the Sportage and also on new cee’d, and a 2.0 litre mill with 177 PS and 211 Nm.

These engine choices will vary with different markets, for example don’t expect any of the normally aspirated GDI engines to make their way here – they will probably be replaced with MPI units instead due to fuel quality issues. If we’re lucky, the 1.7L diesel might appear though.

Kia Malaysia has the Malaysian introduction of the Kia Carens in the pipelines, but it will probably only come sometime later in the year or even next year, as the car next in line to be launched after the Rio is the Kia Forte K3. We have already spotted a heavily disguised unit at a port though! The previous generation Carens was launched in Malaysia with a pretty long name – the Naza Citra II Rondo. We expect the new Carens to be launched as a Kia, not a Naza.

another MPV option for us all

Setup with PC for home theatre

I've just purchased a Pioneer hifi (amplifier, subwoofer and 5 speakers) and I have a 40inch LED tv.

Now,my house doesn't have any Astro nor normal TV antenna port. But I do have a Maxis fibre internet.

So, i'm thinking to buy a simple CPU (with good VGA card to play bluray movie via HDMI connection to my LED) and a good sound card to connect to my amp. Also, I would buy a wireless card so that I can do streaming from my Maxis line later.

Do u think it's a good setup? I've both the hifi and LED already. Now,left is whether I should get a normal bluray player or I should buy a CPU setup.

Hope to hear more suggestions from you all.

PC Fair just ended

hi there,

My family just bought a LED TV, but we have no bluray player or media player.

So I'm thinking to buy a new PC from lowyat/ALL IT mall. Intend to get a good VGA card with HDMI output. Hence I can display immediately the bluray ripped movies directly to my LED.

I've just google internet and realized I've missed the PC Fair last week. Sigh. Questions to you folks out there. Will the price differs much? PC fair or not, for me to assemble a PC alacart?

If no, then maybe I don't need to wait until 2013. I don't mind to wait since there's a PC fair every quarter. If price not much diff, then I'll go and get it now.

Next question, which VGA card is good for TV Output? Brand and recommendation? I don't need a good one for games, since i'm not into it. Just a good one to play bluray.

Also, is Intel or AMD better now?

Hope to hear from you all soon.

Thanks.

Hope you guys can help me out by responding to this thread or just click on the poll, so that I know your choices.

As I mentioned earlier, I've shortlisted down to 4 brands only, hence this poll only has 3 options and the last one is others.

Do share with me.

exhaust Fan

guys,

I'm thinking to get one of the exhaust fan. not sure which one to go for. Here is my situation.

I'm putting a god's altar at my living hall, and this means there will be daily incense smokes. While I prefer to minimize the brownish effects to my plaster ceiling as well as my furnitures, I decided to put an exhaust fan close to my altar.

Now, the distance between my altar to my main entrance (straight line) is about 12-14 feet and my plaster ceiling height is at most 8 inch.

I went around the shops and found these 2 options, Airegard with turbine engine, or KDK with the normal fan.

http://www.airegard.com/super-low-profile-sl80.html
http://www.kdk.com.my/products-detail.asp?id=31

Now, I thought of some pros and cons of each option, but I could not make up my mind

Airegard
Pros
A aluminium foil comes with it and all the smokes will be diverted from the ceiling to my main entrance via this foil.
Silent

Cons
Hard to clean, since there are so many small little layer of filters
With my plaster ceiling only at 8inch, maybe I can get the low profile series only, which has only 80cfm (low suction power)

KDK
Pros
Higher suction power (150-250cfm, depending on which model i choose)
easier to clean, since I'm cleaning the 5 wings only

Cons
Noisier compare to airegard
Need to buy 2xKDK fan (one to suck the smoke from altar to plaster ceiling, another one to suck from plaster ceiling to outside)
Unable to get any foil/tube to connect from one KDK fan to another, as the connector size is bigger. Hence there is a chance the smoke will spread across the plaster ceiling

So guys, please help me to make a wiser decision for long run.
Ladies & Guys,

During one of the Perfect Living exhibition, my family make a booking for The Fiorenza Giovani Corporation (M) Sdn Bhd wardrobe, that locks in the exhibition price.

Needless to say, the price is far more cheaper compare to you walk into the unit yourself. And the material that they supply gives you lifetime warranty.

We make a downpayment of RM500 as deposit and it will valid for quite a long period of time. However, I decided to go for wood design instead of Glass&Aluminium. Hence, I'm letting go of this deposit.

If any of you are interested in to make purchase of wardrobe via this company and have missed to lock down the exhibition price, do let me know. Since I don't intend to purchase from this company, I can let go of this deposit to you at a lower price. You offer to me for the transfer.

Hi there,

I'm going to purchase 2 things.

1) Tian Shan Goong (Chinese Sky God) that we pray at our outdoor house. I'm looking for those traditional brick (very heavy) house type. Not the typical type that we hang on the wall.

2) Ancestor statue/board (Chou Sin)

Please share with me any good place to buy good design with reasonable price. I'm staying in PJ, but i dont mind to go to places like kepong/puchong etc if there are good shops to hunt for these 2 items.
