How often does 2.5" Ext HDD fail?

Since I had a bad experienced previously and planning to get a new one,

is this good? wd passport 1tb

What are the chances of it to be faulty? Previously i was using 3.5" and now wanna try 2.5"

Anyone had faulty 2.5" ones?

Its a buffalo 1tb drive station 3.5"

Once i plugged in the power cable. There is only light and few rounds of spins. Then it automatically turn off itself. The whole process around 5~10 seconds.

Help There is around 500GB+ worth of important documents...

Is this a good choice or are there better one? Its a 6 year plan whereby u have to pay 8k annually n then ull get returns which compounds through years.

If personally im starting my investment, jus wondering whether these kinds of plans is a wise one.
