Taipei, May 17 (CNA) British rock band Coldplay has added a second show in Kaohsiung on Nov. 12 due to the "incredible demand" for tickets to their Nov. 11 concert, which is part of the band's world tour in Asia, the organizer announced Wednesday.

The presale for the Nov. 11 show concluded Wednesday and the general sale of tickets for both concerts at Kaohsiung National Stadium will begin at 12 p.m. Thursday on the website of tixcraft, the Ticketmaster group's company in Taiwan, the concert organizer Live Nation Taiwan said Wednesday.

In addition, the organizer said both shows in Kaohsiung will release limited "Infinity Tickets" in the coming days, which are special tickets that make the world tour more accessible to fans for an affordable price.

The limited tickets cost NT$800 (US$25.96), are restricted to a maximum of two tickets per purchaser and must be bought in pairs.

Coldplay's "Music of the Spheres World Tour" in Asia and Australia is set to kick off in Tokyo with two shows on Nov. 6-7, followed by the two performance in Kaohsiung, according to the organizer.

Coldplay will also perform in Jakarta, Perth and Kuala Lumpur during the Asia and Australia tour.

The Ministry of Culture on Wednesday said in a press release that the second Coldplay concert offers the authorities and concert organizers an additional opportunity to target ticket scalping measures.

Recently, ticket scalping has been rampant amid a surge in the number of art and cultural events following the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, causing regular concertgoers to miss out on tickets, the ministry said.

This will be the first time the British band has held a concert in Kaohsiung and the second time they have visited Taiwan, having held two concerts in Taoyuan in 2017.

Microsoft giving workers unlimited time off

In addition, Microsoft will offer workers 10 corporate holidays, leaves of absence, sick and mental health time off, as well as time off for jury duty and bereavement, The Verge reported, citing Hogan's memo.

Employees with unused vacation balances will receive a one-time payout for accrued time off.

The new DTO policy does not apply to hourly workers or workers outside the U.S., Microsoft said.

Meanwhile, other large U.S. employers are giving workers fewer freedoms, demanding that they return to corporate offices at least four days a week after remote work became the norm during the pandemic.

According to the Sanmin 2nd Precinct of the Kaohsiung City Police, a female scooter driver surnamed Wu (吳) violated traffic rules by changing lanes four times without signaling while driving down Dingshan Street in Sanming District on Oct. 29 of last year. A motorist behind her reported the infractions to police within two minutes.

The police issued four tickets totaling NT$4,800 (US$171) in fines, reported CNA. The precinct on Sunday (Jan. 10) announced that it had rejected her appeal because after reviewing the information and video camera footage, they found that the facts of the violation were clear.

According to Article 42 of the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act (道路交通管理處罰條例), the offense is punishable by a fine of between NT$1,200 and NT$3,600. However, Wu complained that the penalties were excessive, as she had been issued four tickets by police on the same road section and at the same time and date.

Wu claimed that she had been on her way to work and had changed lanes because she was worried a vehicle might pull out in front of her from a side road. She said: "Is this justice? Is [he/she] an evil whistleblower or the devil? As to whether this was excessive punishment, that is for society to decide."
