Siapa Sabotaj AstraZeneca Appointment?

PUTRAJAYA: Preliminary investigations into complaints over AstraZeneca vaccine appointment slots show that a large number came from the same IP addresses, including the Selangor government's Selangkah app.

The Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force said they had received complaints from individuals who were given appointments for AstraZeneca vaccinations even though they did not make any bookings when the slots were made available on Wednesday (May 26).

The task force also received complaints that existing appointments at vaccination centres (PPVs) were replaced with appointments for AstraZeneca jabs.

"Checks and initial investigations showed that several slots for AstraZeneca vaccines were reserved in large numbers on behalf of others without getting their consent, especially if they accepted the AstraZeneca vaccine or not.

"CITF has found that the reservations were made from several IP addresses. CITF contacted one of the parties which made a large number of slot bookings, which is Selangkah," it claimed in a statement on Friday (May 28).

The task force claimed that Selangkah had acknowledged that it had made reservations for AstraZeneca vaccinations without first checking if individuals in the ImuniSEL database had agreed to the vaccine, which resulted in the change of appointments for those who had been earlier been given dates for vaccination at PPVs.

"Selangkah has given its assurance to work with CITF and resolve these issues and ensure those involved would be given back their old appointment dates," it said.

In an immediate response, Selangkah Ventures Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Tengku Iesta Tengku Alaudin denied they were involved in any such AstraZeneca vaccination appointment bookings.

"We were never contacted by the CITF about this issue as claimed," he said in a statement on Friday.

GEORGE TOWN (June 11): Starting today, foreign buyers can expect cheaper property units in Penang as the ceiling price for overhang stratified and landed properties in the state has been reduced by between 20% and 40%.
State Housing, Local Government and Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the offer would be ongoing for a year from today, in line with the Home Ownership Campaign 2020.
"(Within this one-year period) the ceiling price for landed properties on the island has been reduced by 40% from RM3 million to RM1.8 million, whereas the landed properties on the mainland has been dropped by 25% from RM1 million to RM750,000," he told a press conference here today.
Jagdeep said the ceiling price for stratified properties on both island and mainland has also been lowered by 20%, putting them between RM800,000 and RM400,000 respectively.
"This would help property developers to clear up the existing overhang stock, as well as to help boost our standstill economy during the Covid-19 pandemic," he said.
Meanwhile, Jagdeep said the property overhang issue in Penang was under control in comparison to other states.
"Penang has seen a significant and consistent decline of overhang units by 22.3% since last year compared to Johor (+24.9%), Perak (+116.1%) and Selangor (+30.5%)," he added.
He said Penang currently has 3,043 overhang units with a total value of about RM2.6 billion.

Driver in hit-and-run incident says he fled

PETALING JAYA: The driver of a car seen in a viral video of a hit-and-run incident in Shah Alam claims he fled the scene of an accident because he was afraid of being beaten up.

Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Azman Shariat said the incident occurred at around 1pm on Friday (Oct 18).

In a 38-second clip believed to be from dashcam footage from another vehicle, a white car is seen overtaking on the right lane before swerving to the left after hitting the motorcyclist.

The rider, who is doing his rounds for a food delivery service, is thrown off his machine and lands heavily on the road and the car then speeds off.

Supt Azman said the 59-year-old driver of the car has since lodged a police report.

"He claims that he drove off in fear of becoming a victim of an angry mob," he said when contacted on Saturday (Oct 19).

Supt Azman said the investigating officer went to see the 24-year-old motorcycle rider at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.

"He suffered multiple injuries to his arms and legs in the accident.

"We have classified the case as reckless driving under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987," he said.
