Proton Waja 1.8 with MIVEC 4G92 Engine

Hai guys,

I just want to ask from anyone have experience with Waja 1.8 converted to MIVEC 4G92 Engine. Let's me tell the story of my car. My dad bought Waja car 1.8 around 2003. After that our nightmares with this car happen. As much you know, that Waja 1.8 with Renault engine have gearbox problem. First time, my dad spend 16k just to refurbish back that gearbox just to be use for only 1 year before it broke again and this time RM11k just thrown away simply because my dad never believe in engine converting. Then the next year it happened again, but this time I manage to persuade my dad to agree to change the engine to MIVEC 4G92 Engine with manual transmission. And after that, my dad used it for daily use everyday until he handed it to me this year and then I just realized all this years after we user MIVEC 4G92 Engine, the fuel consumption was not normal at all and the top speed I can go just only 130 - 140 km per hour only before u heard the noisy sound and your car start felt not right.

I must said as an old man, my dad never took care of his car. He just what we in Malay said "Hantam pakai sampai jahanam". This car, have many problems such absorber, clutch oil leaking, aircond and much more. But the one thing I need to fix it soon is this two problems, fuel consumption and top speed. FYI, I traveled 50km from my home to my office (100km go and back from Kuala Kubu Bharu to Sri Damansara) everyday and in a day, my car used RM50 fuel (Ron 95 of course) and this is just gave me headache. I didn't face with traffic jam at all.

Another thing, is about the power and top speed. I don't my car to be fast like racing car, but it just not feel right. Like it has so much power in the engine block, but it cannot fully let it go. Like we rasa senak lepas makan. That what I felt. I already change "tabung tengah eksos" as one of my friend suggest, but still the same and worse, the fuel consumption becoming nightmare to me. I love this car so much, and I want to built it back so I can give it back to my old man.

So I beg for help if anyone with the expert can help me with this problem. The idea to change the engine seems like the worse decisions me and my old man ever did.
