Can't open certain programs in FC3

I've just finished installing Fedora Core 3, I've installed Firefox as included in the package, but i can't USE IT
aiyoh.. after clicking it, it starts loading ( the mouse pointer turning) but after awhile nothing come out... not even error message. what went wrong? do i nid to reinstall it?

argh.. not only firefox... some of the video players, email clients, .... also cannot open

why must Fedora Core 3 initialize all my partition

OMG... I was trying to install Fedora Core 3 jsut now, it said my hda is unreadable, it's my windows XP partition LAH.. aiyoh
then after that i cancel it, then i said installation failed... WTH..
then i boot into windows and found out that my the other partition which is for data storing.. is GONE!!!! all my videos, mp3, my gf's pictures... all gone... it said harddisk corrupted, is it revertable? im so sad...

how to install FC3 ?
