Didn’t get album from photographer after 1.5 years

Is it realistic to make a police report for a wedding photographer who never delivered my photo albums? Will it be accepted?

He has not replied my messages since last October. My wedding was on August 2018. He still owes me a photo album. I already received everything else such as raw videos and photos as well as the edited. Problem is the album is still pending. I am so upset as I paid thousands of dollars to this guy when I could have went for other photographers. I even asked for a refund, only for the portion of work that he did not deliver. Still no reply!

The only proof I have is our whatsapp convos, his promises and the invoice, receipts (but there is no deadline stated in those documents, only deliverables and cost. does that make my case less believable and invalid?)

Appreciate some advice from anyone who’s had any experience with this

Suspicious iTunes purchase worth RM400!

Hey LYN folks. First of all my question is - Is there such an app that costs RM199.90?! I received a text from my bank last night around 2AM saying that I was charged this amount, but this was billed twice amounting to almost RM400. I checked my purchase history on iTunes but there was no suspicious or new app. And it definitely was a legit text from my bank (My bank account was deducted).

Then I received this notification on my phone this morning -
LOL, the thief in action. Kantoi. The thing is I don’t even live there liao. Luckily I pressed “Do not allow”. Well it seems the fellar who bought my old iPhone 6s managed to retrieve my banking details. But how was this possible when I wiped out and reset that phone before selling it off to a shop? The shopkeeper there also reset the phone one more time in front of my eyes.

Anyway - After that I quickly changed my Apple password, removed the card details from my Apple ID and blocked my debit card permanently. Got in touch with Apple - they will refund back the money in 3-10 working days. Please let me know if there are other steps I may have missed out? Not sure if a police report is worth it since what are the chances of the culprit to get caught right? But I am still not satisfied because I want to know what actually was that item/app did that thief buy?! Since it’s not appearing in my purchase history. Or can one use the Apple ID to buy something physical like an Apple Watch for example?

Signed a contract, but wanna join another company.

Hi everyone. So here is my dilemma:

I went for 2 interviews - Company A and Company B. Company A said they will get back to me in 2 weeks if I am shortlisted. More than 2 weeks had passed, so I assumed that I didn't get Company A. Meanwhile, Company B said I got the job. So, I signed a contract with Company B as I've given up hope on Company A.

Now, 3 weeks after I've signed with Company B, Company A suddenly called me up and offered me a job. Mind you, I have not started my job with Company B yet. Also, I've always wanted to join Company A as it's more suitable to my interest and skill sets, nearer to my house, and pays higher.

Hence, I told Company B the truth, apologised and asked how to go about terminating the contract. Company B was understanding, said they can't force me to work with them also. I asked what is the next step and they will let me know soon.

However, Company A wants me to start next week meaning I would need to sign their contract ady. What do I do? Ditch Company A without a 'formal release' and straight away sign Company B's contract? Should I ask for Company A to delay my starting date until Company B releases me from their contract?

My final question is: Is it wrong and illegal for me to sign a contract with Company A while I am still under contract with Company B (but haven't commenced the job yet?)

Let me start off first with a brief explanation of my situation here.

In 2010, I graduated from foundation in business at Taylor's. I then went on to study my BA at Oxford Brookes University in UK itself. After two sems, I realized I couldn't adapt, I was lonely as hell. I had no problems with the course but I guess I used that as a 'valid excuse' to my parents. This made me stop going to classes altogether, failed all my subjects, which made me withdraw from the university completely and decided to change uni. I was still stubborn and decided to still study in UK. My dad was disappointed but he was forgiving, because he wants me to be happy.

So ok. I then waited another year to study at Kingston University in 2011, this time with a completely different course, hoping I'd like this one better. Surprise surprise, history repeated itself. It struck me how hard this course was, I failed my first year as I stopped going to classes after 5 weeks in the first sem only. I did not understand the work given, but I was too much of a coward to see the lecturers. Plus I did not want to spend 3 years doing something I have zero passion in. I was still shy, still lonely, nothing changed. It took a toll on me.

Now, I am lost. Now I am getting older and still have not passed by first year. I thought that I could adapt to studying overseas, but I guess I can't and I've been lying to myself. My parents think that this is best for me, but what's the use if I keep wasting my dad's money like this? Unhappy, lonely, and overall not making any effort whatsoever here. I'm too weak, I admit that. I feel like I will be much happier if I return to Malaysia to study. I adapt well with fellow Asians, and having friends make me happy.

Private unis in Malaysia are alright, just as long as they are 'a University' and not 'a University College', right?

Although I do realize that career-wise, it's better that I should rough it out in the UK and finish. But that's the thing, with the attitude I have right now not being happy in the UK, in 10 years also I will never graduate! Until now, I still don't know what I like, hence, I don't know what course is the best for me. Yes, I've talked to my parents, all they want now is for me to make a well-informed FINAL decision that I won't turn my back on.

I guess you could say I screwed myself over the minute I gave up the first time. LOL. But I can't change the past anymore.

I can't be arsed with what my friends would say, or what my parent's friends would say, I am willing to put my ego down. They can judge me all they want but at the end of the day it's my life, and my future.

I just want to pay back my dad by graduating in the UK, but what's the use if I'm not even happy where I'm doing my degree? So please help me y'all, is it a bad idea if I left the UK and returned to Malaysia to study? Will employers be instantly turned off by this bad history of mine? HELP!

I went to SEGi Kota Damansara the other day to check the place out. Before, I was always 'so-so' about it because it's a University College and not a University. Then I talked to one of the consultants there about BA(Hons) English and Public Relations (dual degree). According to him, there aren't a lot of students in this class and he described it as a 'pioneer programme'. LOL, I'm not sure if he's just saying that to sell it or what.

My dad of course is very sceptical about it and asked me to check whether it's recognized by MOHE. So I did, and jeng jeng jeng.... this programme that I am interested in, is not even in MQA's list of accredited programmes lol!

I love English so I want to study English AND something else.. And I have never seen this programme before anywhere else in Malaysia, so I am very intrigued. Applying for public unis are out of the question since I never did A Level or STPM. Taylor's programmes are all very specific hence... their options are limited.

Will it be just a waste of time if I spent 3 years studying at SEGi? Please be honest, brutally as well if you want. I need some opinions. I know SEGi's reputation in this forum is terrible lmao but I know that there are still some SEGi students here.

Should I buy a Blackberry here or UK?

I am thinking of buying the Blackberry Pearl here in KL before I leave to UK, but before that I must know.. Is it better to buy a BB without any contract/data plan, or should I get the Maxis one? Also, would you rather recommend that I get the BB in UK with their contract (Vodafone/O2/Orange). I'd like to be able to use the internet/facebook/twitter when I'm either at UK or Malaysia. Is this possible?
