Hey so, today, I just got the email that I've been called for the EQ Camp which is the next stage in the selection process. Anyone else got this?

It's a 3-day camp in Melaka. Does anyone know what I should prepare for the camp...?

UKM Undergraduate Application

I can't find UKM anywhere on the UPU application system. When I go to UKM's website, it says need to apply through UPU. Does UKM have its own closing date and it withdrew its name for application on UPU because the application is closed already?

Need Guidance - STPM 2015 Student

I'm from Science Stream and I have outstanding co-curricular achievements. I have been praised in my school and even by Jabatan Pendidikan Selangor (JPS) for leadership qualities. Also, I am active in sports (have won national tournaments but only have participation in international tournaments)

My CGPA is 3.25 for STPM (but this is pending improvement from my Term 3 repeat due next month) and these are my results:

STPM
PA: B+
Maths: B
Chem: A
Bio: B-

I repeated Maths and Bio Term 3 and according to my calculations and how I feel about the papers I sat for, there's a possibility my Maths could reach A- (even A if I'm lucky) and Bio can reach B+ (A- if I'm lucky). Which at best case scenario, puts my CGPA at 3.75 (worse case would be CGPA 3.58)

SPM
BM: A
BI: A+
Islam: B+
Sej: A
Chemistry: A
Biology: A
Physics: A-
Maths: A+
Add. Maths: A+

I am interested in primarily Mechanical Engineering but I am also open to studying Computer Science, ICT, Psychology and even Mathematics. I applied to UK and got conditional offer but Idts I can meet their requirements (like Cardiff requires I get 3As excluding PA which doesn't seem very likely). Even if can, I can't afford so I need a scholarship to fly.

I need guidance on whether I should try applying for scholarships and programs that my CGPA doesn't qualify me for. I feel I need to do that since most of these have closing dates in early April (some even close this month). Like for example, UM Mech. Engineering min requirement is CGPA 3.33 and most scholarships min requirement is 3.50 CGPA. Should I even bother applying? Will they be willing to wait for my April results? Would they care that I have outstanding co-cu achievements if my CGPA is sucky?

I tried applying for Shell scholarship but unfortunately my results weren't out back then (their closing date was 10th February) . Their minimum requirement was 3.00 CGPA. I kinda feel I messed up the application so they rejected it.

Canceling Repeat Papers

Here's my situation:

I registered for the Chemistry Term 3 repeat because I got A- for Term 3. I was afraid my overall grade would come out A-. Today, my overall grade for Chemistry came out as A so I have no need to repeat Term 3 anymore. Most people tell me to just not go for the exam and I'll be fine.

My doubt:

Since I have registered for the repeat, is there a possibility that my overall grade that comes out in April for Chemistry can drop to A- ? I think there is a chance because I theorize that when you register for the Term 3 repeat, even if you don't go for the exam, they will assess your percentage to a new graph (that could be harder to get A). So, in short, my doubt is that my grade has a chance of dropping even if I don't sit for my Term 3 repeat.

I have a possible solution:

Can I call MPM or is there any way for me to cancel my repeat for Chemistry Term 3? By canceling, I have removed all possibilities of my grade changing and I assume the grade they publish in April will be exactly the same as what I have now.

Is this a good idea and is it even possible? Have you guys faced anything similar?

Please give me your thoughts. I'm so nervous that I might lose my A in Chemistry.

STPM 2015 Results Compilation

Hey there everyone! I feel it would be really helpful to not only teachers but also future batches if we made a compilation of all our results. I mean something like this for all subjects.

We can do it really neatly - including arts and science subjects (for PA, I've been told that arts and science students have different odds). This will help the juniors to better plan their repeating strategy and could save them time, money and stress if we do this right. Like, I'm sure some of you got A- and wonder if your final result can be A so you end up repeating the A- right?

Edit: I am thinking of doing this with an online form-filling system. Is anyone good with that kind of thing? Haha

STPM: Dropped Physics. Considering to Reapply.

When I started STPM, I took all 5 science subjects. Due to not being able to cope with a very active co-cu life and 5 subjects, I dropped Physics. Back then, I was quite confident that Psychology was the field for me so I thought Biology was more relevant.

Everything was going smoothly until I realised that I have an undeniable love for engineering, technology and computing. Many times where I found a topic of interest, it wasn't the psychological aspect that allured me but the technological aspect. How things evolve, robots specifically, coding. All these things get me very excited about. I've even gone as far as dreaming to enroll in CMU, United States or MIT. Simply put, I see myself going far in those fields. The problem is that I've been told that most of these places would not admit me in their engineering/robotics programs without Physics.

So this brings me to my question. Having sat for term 1 exams (have already gotten my term 1 results and I actually got a C+ for Biology!), is there a way for me to "resit" my Physics exam after term 3 despite not actually initially sitting for it in term 1 and sit for the term 2 and 3 exams like normal?

Or.... am I doomed and forced to continue with Biology?

Also, if possible, I'd like to drop Biology in addition to retaking Physics.
