Hi all,

I went out with my crush yesterday where I have known her almost 5 years already, met her during university. We pretty much get along well and she is single since her last relationship about 8 months ago or so, whom she dated with another classmate of her.

So well, I gave her a bouquet of flowers before dropping her home. She was surprised and said quickly, OMG, why you wanna do this? After that, her mum called her and interrupted. And so, later on she smiled and said thank you. I wanted to give her at the start of the date but I did not want to have a total awkward date.

So, should I ask her out again and ask for her reaction or just move on?

Sent her a message saying thanks for coming out and hope I didn't made her tired since she preferred to go out tonight which I am not free.

Please share your opinion as well.

Thanks for reading.

Hi there,

I am having an issue with this board Manufacturer's Link where I have connected 2 devices on the mainboard's USB port; one which is a USB 3.0 external drive and another one is a Kingston 4GB memory drive.

These two devices have no issues on another PC

I have a Ubuntu portable system installed in the USB external drive and the board is able to detect and boot into it perfectly fine. I also have a DOS loader on the memory drive, which again the board is able to detect and boot into it without issues.

Where else, when I am booting into Windows 7 x64 on the internal hard drive of the board; Windows presents an error of detecting both of these devices as unknown devices/no driver found.

I have already installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 x64 from DVD media and the problem still persists.

1) If I run Ubuntu via USB, I can detect the internal hard drive/access to it from Ubuntu system and also my memory drive.
2) If I run Windows 7 ISO setup via USB, Windows does not detect the internal hard drive.
3) If I run Windows 7 ISO setup from DVD, Windows detects the internal hard drive but not my USB devices.

Already updated the mainboard's BIOS, problem persist.

Dear experts of LYN TS section,

I am in need of a feasible and cheap solution to implement dual monitors display on a single VGA output from mainboard, is there such a splitter or I have to get dedicated graphics card to do the job?

I don't want mirror image, I want extended desktop resolutions.

Which is more cost effective as I need to get additional monitors to implement it to my existing setup.

Thank you for your feedbacks.

Regards.

Laptop Dead

Hi readers,

I was using an Acer Aspire laptop that is running on Core 2 Duo (August 2009).
The hinge around the power button was broken, and I had to force the hinge down to open the laptop.

Well, my LCD cable got twisted and green lights appeared on the screen. Fixed it before previously but as I tried to fix it again just now, when I switch on; the display flickers like mad and shuts off.

A strong plastic/metal melt smell came out. No idea what happened, can't on it now.

So people, if you were me; would you send it back to SC for repairs or just grab a new one?

I am not sure what happened, probably the board short circuited (weird cause it never happened before) or plain bad luck.

To repair or grab new one? I scared the price for repair would exceed 500, cause I need to replace the hinge and plastic case on the keyboard.

Hi there everyone,

I am having a dilemma of setting up AMD Eyefinity in a 3x1 landscape configuration. Currently, I am running an AMD Radeon HD 6870 in CrossFireX mode and am using a 1080p 27" display with audio output via HDMI.

My primary card has:
1 x HDMI
2 x Mini DisplayPort
2 x DVI-DL/DVI-SL

My secondary card has:
1 x HDMI
1 x DisplayPort
2 x DVI-DL/DVI-SL

I am planning to get another two 1080p 27" display that is capable of audio output and use it for the setup. I have tried to use a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter (not sure if active or passive) and the audio is delivered similar to HDMI input directly without problem.

So, question is; how am I going to be able to setup a 3x1 landscape configuration in my situation? I recognised the flaw that Eyefinity requires an active Mini DisplayPort adapter (if the display doesn't have native DisplayPort input) but I am not sure if this would work:

1) Connect display A's HDMI to HDMI input natively
2) Connect display B's HDMI via Mini DisplayPort (M) to HDMI (M) cable
3) Connect display C's HDMI via Mini DisplayPort (M) to HDMI (M) cable

If it doesn't, is there a such thing as an active Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter? I can't find it anywhere in Trade Zone or Amazon.

Also, regarding Eyefinity; what happens if I do the following:

1) Connect display A's HDMI to HDMI input natively on primary graphics card
2) Connect display B's HDMI via Mini DisplayPort (M) to HDMI (M) cable on primary graphics card
3) Connect display C's HDMI to HDMI input natively on secondary graphics card

Lastly, is it possible to get all three displays capable of producing sound output? (Else, I'll just scratch that since it will be a plus to have all three audio capable as it comes with it)

For experienced Eyefinity users, please share on your setup build and feedback.

Monitor Display Malfunctioned

Hi guys, I have been using this monitor for more than 5 years already and it was working fine until one day, when I was using it halfway; it became like this:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The buttons on the monitor panel no longer work and even if I plug in input sources or unplug out all the sources, it will still display the same static screen as the picture. Powering it off and on doesn't help either. It's stuck.

What's the problem and how much would it estimated to cost if I send in to service center fix it?
