Court strikes out PAS' bid to nullify Mujahid's defamation suit

The Kuala Lumpur High Court has dismissed PAS' bid to strike out Amanah vice-president Mujahid Yusof Rawa's defamation suit against the Islamist party.

In making the ruling yesterday, Judge Ahmad Shahrir Mohd Salleh ordered PAS to pay RM3,000 in costs to the former minister...

PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has predicted that the upcoming polls could pose a threat to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s government if the outcome favoured Perikatan Nasional in five of the six states.

“If we can defend Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah as well as capture Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, God willing the federal government will be challenged and it’s not impossible that it will fall,” he was quoted as saying by Harakah Daily...

Perak PAS chief apologised to Anwar to 'save PM's name', says son

The son of Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria has defended the latter's apology to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, saying it was done to "save the premier's name".

According to Muhammad Rif'aat, both Razman and Anwar agreed to settle the case outside court and was not a one-sided settlement as reported.

If the case was prolonged, more dirt would have surfaced, adds Muhammad Rif'aat.

'Racial slur': Withdraw hockey player's suspension - PAS Youth chief

Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari has urged the Youth and Sports Ministry to withdraw the suspension of national women's hockey player Hanis Nadiah Onn over her alleged racist remark.

According to the PAS Youth chief, this is because the suspension could affect Hanis' future and affect the national team's chance of winning a medal in women's hockey in the SEA Games 2023 in Cambodia.

"I strictly condemn Hanis' suspension. The suspension is too harsh for her offence, more so when she has already publicly apologised...

PETALING JAYA: PAS’ Jabi assemblyman Azman Ibrahim has been criticised for comparing women to “items” after a woman was reportedly denied entry into a police station because of her attire.

In a Twitter post, Azman said “packaging plays an important part in marketing”, adding that “expensive items that are high in value will be packaged nicely”.

“If an item is sold uncovered by the roadside, it is likely a cheap imitation item,” said Azman, the Terengganu agriculture, food industry, plantation, commodity, and rural development committee chairman.

He was referring to a report in Sinar Harian which quoted Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman’s call to police to carry out their duties without prejudice and sexism.

Young Syefura, who was commenting on an incident last week in which a woman was barred from entering a police station in Kajang as she was said to be wearing shorts that allegedly did not cover her knees, urged police not to judge people by what they wore.
