Palanivel officially takes over as MIC chief

KUALA LUMPUR: Finally its official. Datuk G Palanivel is the eighth MIC president taking over from the longest-ever serving party leader Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu.

Stepping into the 61-year-old Palanivel's deputy president's post will be Human Resources Minister Datuk S Subramaniam.

The endorsement of the official appointments were made at the CWC meeting Monday chaired for the last time by Samy Vellu, 74, who has been the MIC chief since 1979.

Samy Vellu became president following the death of Tan Sri V. Manickavasagam. Palanivel, the Deputy Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities, was Samy Vellu's former press secretary.

10) Ajman (UAE)

Ajman Club have endured a miserable start to the 2009/10 United Arab Emirates Premier League. They have played eight games and have lost every one of them. Perhaps they can be described as a ‘Cup team’ as they won their most recent Presidents Cup and Emirates Cup games!

9) Tornados de Humacao (Puerto Rico)

A tornado tore through the Puerto Rico Soccer League this past season, but unfortunately for Tornados de Humacao they were on the receiving end of it almost every game. The East Coast outfit finished bottom with just three points from 16 games, and a goal difference of -41.

8) Baloch (Pakistan)

The Nushki-based club have been making headlines for all the wrong reasons in the Pakistan Premier League. Baloch are bottom with two wins, two draws and a whopping 22 defeats from their 26 games. Peculiarly they also like to lose 3-0, as five of their last seven games have ended with this scoreline.

7) Dingli Swallows (Malta)

Dingli have had a lot to swallow so far this term in the Maltese Premier League. Following promotion last season, they seem destined to return back to the First Division having picked up one win and eight defeats so far.

San Marino are often described as the worst international football team in Europe, and one of the worst in the world. So how does it feel to be the worst club team from the worst footballing country? 5) PDRM (Malaysia)

One team who won’t be in the 2010 Malaysian Super League is PDRM. In the 2009 edition, PDRM were humiliatingly relegated in last place after earning just three points all season – all draws from 26 games. They also conceded 76 goals.

4) Milano (FYR Macedonia)

They share a name with a famous Italian footballing city, but Milano from FYR Macedonia are certainly no AC or Inter. With one win and 16 losses, plus 63 goals conceded, Milano need a miracle if they are to avoid the drop from the First Macedonian Football League.

3) Panthrakikos (Greece)

Rock bottom of the Greek Super League with just two points from 14 games, as well as seven goals scored and 30 conceded – Panthrakikos look certain for relegation this season.

2) Hong Lok (Macao)

With just one point from 14 games, and 54 goals conceded – including a 10-0 home defeat to Primeira Divisão do Campeonato winners Lam Pak – there can be no denying that Hong Lok are the worst team from Macao.

How about this for a record? Played 10, Won 0, Drawn 0, Lost 10, Goals For 2, Goals Against 55. This campaign they have lost 9-0, 10-0 and 11-0 - the latter to an outstandingly named team called Quality Distributors. The team from Guam are certainly no masters - they are Goal.com's 'Worst Team In The World'!

In-flight delivery: Malaysian gives birth on plane

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – An official says a Malaysian woman has given premature birth to a boy on a domestic flight, minutes before it landed in Kuala Lumpur.

Liew Siaw Hsia gave birth on budget carrier AirAsia's flight from Penang to Kuching on Wednesday.

AirAsia spokesman Nazatul Mokhtar said Friday that the flight was diverted to nearby Kuala Lumpur for an emergency landing when Liew started labor pains.

A doctor on the flight helped the 31-year-old deliver while the plane was still 2,000 feet (600 meters) in the air in its final approach to land.

Nazatul says both the mother and baby are healthy and will get lifetime of free flights. He says Liew was 27 weeks pregnant, 11 weeks short of the full term.

Sept 16 declared Malaysia Day

KUALA LUMPUR: Beginning next year, Sept 16 has been declared as Malaysia Day and a public holiday.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the day would involve activities that would foster the 1Malaysia spirit.

He added this meant Malaysians would have a twin celebration, to commemorate the country’s independence starting next year

Najib said National Day on Aug 31 would be celebrated with formal events such as a parade to commemorate the historical moment and it would remind the people about the struggle in achieving independence from the colonists.

He made the announcement during the question-and-answer session at Parliament on Monday.

Najib said Sabah and Sarawak, which joined Malaysia in 1963 and the formation of Malaysia as an independent country was a very important moment in history.

“We want the joy and sorrows of the people in Sabah and Sarawak to be felt by the people in the Peninsula,” he said.

“Therefore, I would like to announce to the people of Malaysia that the Cabinet has recently made the decision to celebrate Hari Malaysia on Sept 16 starting 2010.”

Malaysia Day would be celebrated with events that would foster closer unity, understanding between the different races and community success and achievement through sports, social culture and arts, to spur the 1Malaysia spirit, he added.

I dont know what is the actual prob..sometime car like jerking heavily when i drive at 80 above..sometimes its not..
I went to a workshop he said shud b coz tyre balancing...spark plug or coz petrol filter sumbat..i changed everything . But still jerking...
