Singapore's PAP is winning last 2011 GE

""During a National Day rally speech last year, Mr Lee said:

‘Let us welcome them (immigrants) with an open heart, help them to fit in and encourage those who will become citizens to strike roots here. If we do this well, by the next generation, their children will be native Singaporeans.” (read here)

The sudden U-turn by Mr Lee does not change that fact that the PAP has planned all along to bring in more foreigners with PAP candidate for Tampines GRC Mah Bow Tan saying way back in 2007 that Singapore needs 6.5 million people

More importantly, PAP de facto leader Lee Kuan Yew proclaimed only last week that the PAP will still be bringing in more foreigners:

“Please remember: We still need 900,000 foreign workers on work permits.”""

90,000 grateful new citizens will be voting on 7 May after which 900,000 may be voting five years later.
According to GK Dragonomics,China's non-financial corporate debt accounts for roughly 62% of total debt--30 to 40% higher than in other countries

China's total corporate debt amounted to 108% of GDP in 2011,and reached a 15-year high of 122% of GDP last year. Many of these heavily indebted enterprises are state-owned,and have borrowed from state-controlled banks
The implicit guarantees on this debt, too, suggest that the government's liabilities are much higher than its balance sheet indicates

By Zhang Monan, fellow of the China Information Centre,a researcher at the China Macroeconomic Research Platform

As I said earlier, why are we being treated as second class students? As second class citizens? You can see there is this inequality that persists in our society and basically this will [be very divisive] if we do not address all these issues directly and fast.”

Zi Rui was referring to the large number of scholarships pay for by taxpayers’ monies being given to foreign students by the PAP regime to study in Singapore universities, some faculties of which are fast becoming a little China or India.

http://my.news.yahoo.com/manila-mulls-taki...-085747291.html

KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 – The Philippine government may take a Sulu rebel group’s ownership claim on Sabah to be adjudicated at world court even though the Borneo state in now part of Malaysia, Philippine media reported.

Leila de Lima, secretary in the Philippines’ Department of Justice (DOJ) was reported saying in Manila yesterday that the government had not ruled out taking the territorial dispute to the International Court of Justice in the Hague, but was studying carefully the case as it did not want to strain its friendship with Malaysia.

“That is among the options we are looking into. Of course there are international fora available so we’re considering that,” she was quoted as saying by the Philippine Star news portal.

She reportedly said “careful study” was needed and that the Philippine government’s considerations were not only limited to the legal issues of the claim.

“We have to consider standing policies of the administration, including foreign policies,” De Lima said, referring to her home country’s diplomatic ties with Malaysia.

Both countries are members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) political and economic regional partnership.

De Lima told reporters in Manila that the DOJ would need more time to before forming a legal opinion on the Sultanate of Sulu’s purported ownership to Sabah.

“At first I thought I could finish it in a few days, but it’s a very complicated thing and we have to be very careful. There’s a lot of research materials and documents we need to read. I’m already halfway done with the memorandum,” she was reported saying.

Newswire Reuters has reported that Malaysia pays a token sum to the Sultanate of Sulu each year in an arrangement that stretches back to British colonial times.

The sultanate has claimed that the payment amounts to rental of Sabah, but Malaysia has argued that it is instead payment for the sultanate’s ceding of its rights over the land.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-22...trip-wages.html

Food prices are rising more than three times faster than the average worker’s pay package as the cost of living ‘crisis’ continues, official figures revealed yesterday.

While the average private sector worker’s pay has risen by just 1.4 per cent - and millions of State workers are subject to a pay freeze - food prices have risen by 4.5 per cent in the last year, according to the Office for National Statistics.

The crippling cost of the weekly trip to the supermarket is the most striking figure in the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) for January.
vegetables, fruit and bread prices have shot up

Changes in diet: vegetables, fruit and bread prices have shot up

Overall, the ONS said the measure of inflation remained at 2.7 per cent in January.

This means it has been above the Government’s target of two per cent for more than three years. It was 1.9 per cent in November 2009.

To make matters worse, the Bank of England warned last week that inflation is likely to ‘remain above the two per cent target for the next two years.’

Vicky Redwood, chief UK economist at the consultancy Capital Economics, warned the Bank’s own inflation report today [wed] will ‘paint a nasty picture of weak growth and above-target inflation for much of the next two years.’

Cathy Jamieson, Labour’s Shadow Treasury Minister, said: ‘With inflation stubbornly high and prices still rising faster than wages, the cost of living crisis continues.’

A typical British family needs to spend an extra £678 a year to maintain the standard of living that they had a year ago, according to a separate report from the income experts MGM Advantage.

* 'I cut £600 a year from my household bills': How switching providers can cut £100s off your energy, telecoms, insurance and car breakdown bills
* Family food shop would cost £453 A WEEK if prices had risen as fast as property

In reality, many are simply making drastic cutbacks by buying cheaper food, going to discount shops or cutting back on the amount or the type of food that they eat.

The ONS said vegetable prices have risen because many are having to be imported from the continent, rather than grown in Britain.
Families are having to re-think what food they can afford to eat

Families are having to re-think what food they can afford to eat

Fruit, bread and cereal prices have also jumped, with the only ‘downward’ pressure coming from the cost of meat.

The food inflation figure - which compares prices with what they were a year previously - has risen sharply over the last few months, from 1.9 per cent in September 2012 to 4.5 per cent in January 2013.

Frances O’Grady, general secretary of the Trades Union Congress, said: ‘There has been no let-up in the financial pressures being faced by millions of ordinary families.

‘Despite the bargains to be had on every high street last month, the cost of living is rising faster than wages, and household budgets are still under huge strain.’

‘Unless real wages start to rise again, people will be reluctant to spend, and until they do, our economy is likely to remain in the doldrums.’
shoppers need to be cannier than ever in the face of spiraling food prices

Bargain hunters: shoppers need to be cannier than ever in the face of spiraling food prices

For savers, they are still being crippled by the toxic combination of high inflation and low interest rates.

Of the 874 standard savings accounts, there is not a single one which beats the impact of tax and inflation that is not a tax-free Isa, according to the financial information firm Moneyfacts.

Its research shows a person who had £10,000 invested five years ago will find their nest egg has the spending power of just £9,022 today.

Rachel Springall, finance expert for Moneyfacts.co.uk, said: ‘Savers still have little to hope for.

‘Savings rates are continuing to fall, so investors face a real struggle to generate any sort of real return.’

**UK's economy is crumbling at sharp rate,inb4 semua ni salah kerajaan BN

france bankrap

Socialist France is 'totally bankrupt', a senior government minister admitted yesterday.

Michel Sapin, who is in charge of the employment ministry in Paris, made it clear that his government's tax-and-spend policies are just not working.

Just half a year since his party came to power, Mr Sapin told radio listeners: 'There is a state but it is a totally bankrupt state.
Totally bankrupt: Michel Sapin, who is in charge of the employment ministry in Paris, made it clear that his government's tax-and-spend policies are just not working

Totally bankrupt: Michel Sapin, who is in charge of the employment ministry in Paris, made it clear that his government's tax-and-spend policies are just not working

'That is why we had to put a deficit reduction plan in place, and nothing should make us turn away from that objective.'

While the admission was unlikely to have been intentional, it highlighted huge concern at President Francois Hollande's handling of the economy.

Since he came to power, unemployment and the cost of living have continued to spiral, while 'anti-rich' measures have provoked entrepreneurs to leave the country.

President Hollande is currently trying to revive France's economic fortunes by cutting spending by the equivalent of more than £51billion.
Worries: The admission highlighted huge concern at the handling of the economy by President Francois Hollande (pictured yesterday)

Worries: The admission highlighted huge concern at the handling of the economy by President Francois Hollande (pictured yesterday)

Mr Hollande has also pledged to increase taxes by £20billion over the next five years.

But the Bank of France has already produced data showing that capital investment is leaving the country every day, along with the business people who helped to build it.

Among those who have moved their vast wealth out of France are Bernard Arnault, the country's richest man.

Mr Arnault, the 63-year-old head of luxury goods group LVMH, insists that he moved the cash and assets to Belgium for 'family inheritance reasons'.

But others are convinced that, like numerous other tycoons and celebrities, he simply wants to avoid taxes including a 75 per cent top rate on income being introduced by President Hollande.

Mr Arnault, who owns numerous homes around the world including one in London, applied for a Belgian passport soon after Mr Hollande's Socialists won presidential and parliamentary elections last year.

Earlier this year, Hollywood star Gerard Depardieu became another high-profile Frenchman moving his assets abroad.

The Green Card and Cyrano de Bergerac card obtained a Russian passport, bought a house in Belgium, and put his multi-million pounds Paris town house on the market.

There have even been reports that Nicolas Sarkozy, the last President of France, is preparing to move to London with his third wife, Carla Bruni, to set up an equity fund.

Prime Minister David Cameron has already said that Britain will 'roll out the red carpet' to attract wealthy French people.

Pierre Moscovici, France's finance minister, immediately tried to play down Mr Sapin's comments, saying they were 'inappropriate'.

Mr Moscovici said: 'France is a really solvent country.
UK cut 119 taxes since the new Gov took place

UK taxation 101
The Coalition has increased nearly 300 taxes since its formation, a report reveals today.

Chancellor George Osborne has introduced more than twice as many tax rises as he has cuts.

The Treasury has implemented or pencilled in 299 separate increases since May 2010, but only 119 cuts.

And the new taxes will mean that taxpayers will shell out £671billion a year by 2015/16 – a 15 per cent increase on the £513billion in the final year of the Labour government.

Research from the centre-right think-tank, the TaxPayers’ Alliance, lays bare the extent of taxes that have been introduced.

In all, 254 tax rises have been introduced, with a further 45 pencilled in. To date, 109 tax cuts have been implemented with a further ten planned by the next general election, expected in May 2015.

Treasury sources tried to dismiss the research, saying it included the normal up-rating of taxes to bring them in to line with inflation, as well as counting tax-avoidance measures.

But Matthew Sinclair, chief executive of the TaxPayers’ Alliance, said: ‘Families are struggling to bear an increasingly heavy tax burden.

‘High taxes kill jobs, depress wages and increase prices.

‘With nearly 300 tax rises since the Government came to power, it is no wonder everyone is feeling squeezed. The crisis in the public finances came after a decade of tax rises, not tax cuts, but politicians are still coming back for more.

‘Endless tinkering at the edges of the tax system was a vice that George Osborne criticised in the last government, but of which he is equally guilty now he is in office.’

ps-we need to folow UK in this matter, first of all need to cut petrol subsidy

inb4 PKR leaders love to compare UK's car price which having zero tax, free education, unemplyment welfares but ignoring other facts about UK taxation

Mag editor sentenced to 10years in prison

Thai monarchy

A prominent Thai activist and magazine editor has been sentenced to ten years in prison today for publishing negative articles about the country's monarchy.

Somyot Pruksakasemsuk was convicted after publishing two articles in an anti-establishment magazine.

The verdict came despite repeated calls by rights groups to free Somyot, who has been jailed since 2011. They condemned his imprisonment as the latest affront to freedom of expression in the Southeast Asian country.

It also underscored the harsh nature of Thailand's lese majeste laws, which critics say have frequently been used by politicians to silence rivals.

The articles were published under a pseudonym in Somyot's now-defunct Voice of Taksin magazine, which he launched in 2009 to compile political news and anti-establishment articles from writers and contributors.

Judges found both articles included content that defamed the royal family and argued that Somyot, as a veteran editor, was aware of that. The court handed down two five-year jail terms - one for each story.

Somyot 'should have better judgment than ordinary journalists. He must have understood that the articles contained lese majeste content, but chose to publish them anyway,' one of judges said in the ruling

conincidently, Thailand King is the richest King with $30bil assets, beating Sultan Brunei

$30bil thailand King

I can sense the activist also same like many k fags here, questioning about the King's massive wealth
