WTA Car Tires

Here is my story .....

A month ago , I noticed my rear tires are running bald . Since I've decided to upgrade my rims from 20" to 22" which is arriving beginning of April , I decided to cut abit of cost . Instead of buying new tires , I decided to get used to last me for a month or so . Looking thru LYN's Garage Sales , I found 1 quite reputable seller . After a call , he confirmed with me he got a set of used 20" in stock but it's around 50%-60% . Price seems ok , not 2 cheap for a used but acceptable . So i drove to his shop and have a look at his tires and sure enough , his staff showed me the 1 I requested for ..... After a check for bumps or tear , everything was in fact as good as he claimed to be . Tire thread is still quite deep , reasonable for a 50% + ...... I then bought it and fix it at a tire shop nearby .

Yesterday , since it was heavy down pour , i noticed my rear starting to slip . I feel funny coz that only happens to bald tires . I got a shocked when I saw my tires . Pictures are attached below . This is the condition of my tires after using it for a month , 2500km after fixing it last month . Took to a tire shop to get it replaced , new this time and was told these tires are actually bold to begin with . The threads , the 1 I circled up are actually sign of the tires being cut before it was sold to me to make it look like it's still 50% or more but in fact it's actually least , maybe 10% or so .

So , my point is , this . I'm actually quite new to fixing used tires , in fact , its my 1st set . Would like some opinion from forumers who actually knows if it's true from what I was told by the tire shop's staff . I find it impossible to used to so much over such a short period of time . I even checked my alignment to see if my chamber is out but it's not and my car is FWD , not RWD .

[attachmentid=2757217]

[attachmentid=2757218]

[attachmentid=2757226]
