Attempted robbery?

About an hour ago I was at Kelana Jaya Shell station (the one next to Petronas station just after NKVE toll before turining into Glomac Center) pumping gas.

This young looking Indian guy came up to me asking where the nearest police station is cos he had just been robbed and he needed help to get home. I told him the nearest one is near the Kelana Jaya McDonald's across LDP cos that's the only police station that I could think of, not sure if there's another one nearer. He brushed it off saying the police officers over there are fxcked up they wouldn't help him at all. I then suggested him to approach the Shell station staff asking for help. He kind of ignored my suggestion and asked me if I could give him a lift back to his home instead. Not to a police station, but his home. I suggested him to approach the Shell station staff the second time and again he ignored my suggestion and insisted I should help him by sending him back his home. I then started to suspect something. Then I acted dumb and said sorry I couldn't help him and I'm not familiar with Kelana Jaya. He then walked away saying have a nice day sarcastically.

I don't know whether he was genuinely asking for my help or he was just trying to get into my car then rob me. But it was really suspicious that he didn't want to go to a police station, after specifically asking me where the nearest one is, and he didn't want to approach the Shell station staff for help, like borrowing a phone or something. But having been hearing all these new creative robberies in Klang Valley all these years I can't help but to rather be a selfish bystander than be another criminal victim statistic.

The reason I'm posting is because I want to bring this to attention to anyone reading this in case it is a new way of robbery, then you know you should stay away if it happens to you.

The Indian guy looks somewhere between 18 to 25, may be 5'7" or 5'8" not really sure, he was wearing a yellowish or beige coloured long sleeve sweater and blue jeans. Oh and I also noticed there was another young Indian guy standing nearby beside a car parked outside the Shell station. This may be irrelevant but I couldn't help but suspect may be this guy talking to me was trying to get into my car to "send him back his home" and the other Indian guy would then follow me with his car then who knows? Or may be I've watched too many movies.

Sorry machan if you were genuinely asking for help. Stay safe guys.

Opportunities after Big 4 besides commercial jobs.

I'm currently working in one of the Big 4 in audit line, going through my own share of baptism of fire. Like many others I plan to stay in audit only for 3 years maximum. I'm currently contemplating my career options after that. My apologies if a similar thread exists. I've tried but I can't seem to find one. Anyway, back to topic.

Many would choose to switch to accounting or finance roles in the commercial world because of better pay and better working environment. But I'd like to know what other options there are available for those with Big 4 audit experience like myself.

Perhaps switching to another division within Big 4? However I know only very little about them and I'm sure there's lots of you guys here very knowledgeable about them.

Right now I'm considering Big 4 Internal Audit, whereby clients are most likely large corporations outsourcing their Internal Audit department. I'm thinking Internal Audit because it's the one division where most of the skills and knowledge I'd have learned in my External Audit days would be transferable here. But I may be wrong? Can someone correct me on this?

What I'm interested to know is, how is the career path of a Big 4 Internal Auditor? Basically:
01. Are their working hours as crazy as External Auditors (which means I might as well stay in External Audit)?
02. If say one day I decide to leave Big 4, how are my job opportunities in the commercial world? Heard a friend said banks and insurance companies would welcome someone with a background like that because of their experience in risk management, how true is that?
03. Do the Internal Auditors make as much as professionals in other divisions within the Big 4? If not, which division within the Big 4 offers better pay in general compared to other divisions?
04. In order to be a professional Internal Auditor in a Big 4 you need to have CIA (Certified Internal Auditors) qualification if I'm not mistaken, is anyone here familiar with this professional exam? How is the exam module/structure like? Is it easy or difficult? I personally have tried to research about CIA online but to no avail.
05. If I do decide to switch to Internal Audit for long term plan, how long is it recommended for me to stay in External Audit line for the experience before switching? One year? Two years? Three years?

I'm sure there's some of you here with valuable insights regarding my questions and I would appreciate it if you could share your opinion or experience with me and the rest of us. Or if you have suggestions on other options after 3 years of External Audit feel free to share here.

Have a great weekend guys.

One of my favourite movie scenes.

Anyone else watched Almost Famous (2000) before? Just want to share one of my favourite scenes in a movie, and probably recommend this movie to those who haven't heard of it before. Song name is Elton John - Tiny Dancer. Post your comments about this movie or your favourite movie scenes or flame on if it pleases you lol. Happy holidays /k/ =)

[youtubewide]7Qn3tel9FWU[/youtubewide]

Even Dave Grohl talks about the scene and performs the song in a talk show appearance.

[youtubewide]IVUSh6pKYdQ[/youtubewide]

Wolverhampton v Liverpool

http://livescore.com/

It's always fun to diss Liverpool while the game is going on and here we are again. Game is starting at 8.45pm our time. For the latest score click on the link given.

Also I've been puzzled about why the fxck would Darren Bent want to transfer to Aston Villa so badly? Sunderland has been performing above expectation this season and he was starting regularly. He was getting attention from Fabio Capello for England set up while playing for Sunderland. They might even grab a Europa League spot next season while Aston Villa is playing so bad they might be relegated if they lose focus for a second.

So why did Darren Bent want to risk that all to go to Aston Villa he even handed a written transfer request to Sunderland management and pissed off Steve Bruce the one manager that saved his career from Tottenham? The only reason I can think of is money, which is an acceptable excuse, not honourable, but a reason that makes sense.

Anyone has any insight about this? Or information I missed? Enlighten me please.

Roberto Carlos.

17th Jan 2011
Corinthians 2:0 Portuguesa

Look at the beginning of the video he still can do that kind of bursts at 37 years of age. And the teammate that hugs him first in the goal celebration is Ronaldo (the one and only Ronaldo, not the egomaniac Ronaldo in Madrid).

[youtube]bBbO_qCxCIw[/youtube]
