my maxis router ( archer c5v) not giving out IP

Hi,

ive an issue that has been happening in the past two months. of course, at first i ignored it since both of us working and the internet at home is not really used. now that we have to wfm, its becoming a problem.

my archer c5v doesnt give out IP, i have to set my ip manually in order to get internet.
i went into the router management page, already tried to disable the dhcp. reboot, and then enable it again. and reboot again. still no IP. then i thought. maybe because dhcp ipv6 was turn on. its causing a conflict. so i disabled that as well. still same thing. not getting ipv4

on top of that, its not using the dns server that we set . instead its using the dns server from WAN settings. obviously, this is causing us some grief since some sites need to be accessed via a third party dns and not telco dns...

i called maxis to request change of router. because of mco. cant do anything. computer shops are closed. not sure if lazada got delivery or not for non essential goods.

any advice ? on :

a) how to fix dhcp issue on this archer ?

b) how to chnge the dns on the wan settings ?

i know its long. please spend a minute.

i been reading up on this other issue that is hiding at the moment. its bigger than 1mdb. bigger than gst, bigger than general elections. but scary part is, not many people are bothered about it. Im talking about TPPA . or trans pacific partnership agreement, or FTA on steroids.
What is it ? its a "FTA" between 11/12 countries. and its not a FTA, its a lot of other things.

its the corporate americans forcing their way down your throat. if jibby signs this. cost of medicine becomes higher, we wont be able to torrent anything anymore,local companies ( not just proton, but every local company in every industry) will have to compete with more well funded foreign companies in offering services and based on the TPPA clause, there are no requirements for them to higher local.

many countries are also against tppa, including australia and new zealand

this thing, has not been signed yet. jibby will sign the agreement in november. but end of this month, our government and theirs will sit down again to discuss.

i need /k 's help . This matter goes beyond political parties, race and religion. if jibby sign TPPA, we are screwed for generations to come.

What can you do to help ?

2) spread the awareness. talk about it, tweet about it, fb about it,more malaysians need to be aware of whats happening. they must know why people all over the world are very worried about TPPA.

3) read about it. google it. find out what other news portal in other countries are commenting about it.

Possible to install apps to iphone not via itunes

Is it possible to actually download an app on the computer via the web, then importing it into itunes for it to be 'installed' to the phone ?

Fatal Accident Statistics involving vehicles

Hi,
You know how we usually have a monthly or quarterly car sales report and statistics right; does anyone knows where we can find a statistics that shows the fatal accidents and the car makes that were involved ?

the objective is to bring to the public attention the top ten cars that has the most fatal accidents. maybe if this data is in the open, then the goverment and/or the car manufacturers can or would be forced to include active and passive safety in the cars that they sell here.

if enough exposure given to this, who knows, maybe the goverment might even give further tax rebates for car manufacturers who include safety features in their vehicles ( for example, all cars must have airbags,abs,ebd....those who comply gets a further rebate on the tax that they pay for each pay)

anyone knows where i can get ? i tried miros, but they dont publish to public the car makes...

btw, according to miros,, fatal accidents are on average 6k a year...

was wondering,
Anyone used tesco brand engine oil ? anyone dare to use ? its much more cheaper than the usual rite... but if not mistaken, the api rating is the same as the other more established brands... so how ?

anyone felt any difference in the shell /castrol engine oil purchased frm tesco ( which are made and packed in the e.u) and the locally packed shell/castrol engine oils ? is the grade the same ?
always wondered because the e.u packed oils would have been made to suit their climate rite, and our oils here are made to 'tahan' the extra hot climate here... anyone can comment ?

issue with postfix

Hi guys,

Im helping my friend to configure postfix, or at least find ideas to pinpoint the problem setting and setting it right.
the issue is this: my postfix server is damn slow, its sending rate is 1 email every 10 seconds, and if i have a que of 1000, it takes a long time.
i've read online on how people can get up to 100 emails a second.
i know that is close to impossible with the hardware we have, but if we can get 10 to 20 emails per second , would also be vast improvement.

we're having a dual core cpu with 2 gb of ram. we're running cent os + postfix.

O/c and Benchmarking your android

anyone has tried o/c and then running benchmarking ?
im using setcpu to further o/c and i've set my freq range from 19mhz to 650mhz. ( default value was 528mhz)
original benchmark b4 o/c was only 0.6mflops. now its at least showing a decent 2.6 mflops. and my scrolling seems to be a lot more smoother.

anyone else tries to o/c their phone ?
