Recently, I enrolled to one investment class and the tutor recommend the students to buy this investment tools, which is claimed from UK.

Is there anyway to find out whether the website is really registered in UK or it's a scam whereby the site owner register it in Malaysia and merely publish a UK address just as fake contact?

Hi,

I have this scenario and don't know how to handle....

I attended an interview 2 months ago in a small consulting firm. Got an offer from the employer the following next week. They know my notice period is 3 months and had prepared the offer letter to me. I had signed the offer letter and supposed to start work next month.

I attended another interview 2 weeks ago in a bank (because the bank called me for interview). I got their offer letter yesterday.

So, I am in dilemma now because I feel like joining the bank. Reason is because more benefits, AL, bonus, etc.

How do I reject my first employer nicely?

Hi,

This case happened in my neighborhood. Out of a sudden my parents had a dispute with my neighbour.
Hence, my neighbour purposely put a flower pot on the road side to prevent cars from parking there. (I used to park my car here)
The main point is, the vacant area did not obstruct the gate entrance if there's any cars park there.
What action can I take? Should I move the pot away?

Hi,

I have been using this speaker system for more than 10 years. Problem now is the sub-woofer is not working/faulty and plan to dispose it coz it seems to take some spaces.
Is it possible to get any switch so that both speakers can directly connect to my PC? Currently, the speakers connection must go through the sub-woofer first (represented by orange and brown cable) before finally link to the PC (green audio jack cable).

How to check what port is listening?

Dear sifu,

I have an applications running on two servers; one server A sitting at DMZ and another server B at internal network.

When I try to launch the application from the server in DMZ, it seems like hanging / not responding. May I know how to check what port is it trying to listen from the other server?

Been troubleshooting by running 'netstat -an' command from server A but not helpful. Is there other better command? Or using any other tools?

Create remote access for public users

Dear sifus,

This is my first time doing this kind of configuration. Currently, I have one Windows Terminal Server (WTS) located within our company network, configured with IP address 192.168.x.x. All company staffs access the WTS via Remote Desktop Connection (RDC).

On the next phase, we open the access to some of our subsidiaries from overseas. So, our plan is to move the WTS into DMZ zone and assign an external IP address 203.x.x.x so that it can be access by users outside of company network. We decided not to use VPN in this exercise as it's not stable.

So, my question is:
1. How can I make the access from public users to be secure?
2. Do I need to install certificate on this WTS? If yes, is self-signed certificate able to work? (prefer this coz it's free)
3. Is the certificate to be setup in the server IIS?
4. Other any concern?

Hope can hear some valuable inputs from you guys...
