Wireless half the speed

My TP-Link TL-WR1043ND is probably 3-5 years now. And I noticed when doing the speed test on my iPad (wifi) versus my desktop (LAN), speed results have a 50% difference. Previously (about 6-12 months back), speed test via WiFi and LAN were similar in result.

I've reboot the modem and changed the channel. But it's still showing the same results.

Is this a symptom to replace the router ?

Or, are there recommended solutions I could do with the router before replacing it ?

Which is dying?

I've OC-ed my rig ever since it was assembled. But now, something is dying and I'm not sure which component. The rig is about 2-3 years old, I think. Not on all the time.

After I've configured the settings to OC in BIOS, the computer stays quiet for awhile before trying to reboot. It used to take less than 3 mins to boot. Then when it boots, it just dies - power cut. I've to boot up the rig again and all the previous settings have been reset by the BIOS.

Right now I'm running at the default settings and it seems to be working fine. Just slow.

My rig specs are:
500w Silverstone PSU
Gigabyte GA-965P rev 3.3
E6300 @ 2.4Ghz (OC-ed, this was the clock speed)
2 x 1GB Super Talent 800Mhz rams @ 12-5-5-5
ATI 4970 gfx card
2 x HDDs

Does anyone have an idea what could be dying?
