i7-950 V6GT temperature issue

I'm having problems with my coolest master V6GT.. Under no load the temp ranges from 44-49 C.. While running prime95, it can go up to 80 degrees C without overclocking. The guy at jayacom installed the cooler for me.. but i dont think he removed the thermal paste from the stock cooler.. he just applied the new thermal paste from V6GT.. So the question is, should i reapply the thermal paste or is the temperature normal?
