UniFi best IP range ?

Hi sifus,

Just curious, is there such thing as ' best IP range ' for UniFi ? i.e. in terms of connection reliability, international routing, etc. ?

I've read that some ISPs use different routing tables based on the IP range. Eg. Singapore MyRepublic

I've seen people claiming some UniFi IPs perform better than others, but they never gave any definitive proof or facts, just thoughts and opinions.

I've also tried to find out for myself. Even if it's true, I honestly never noticed any real difference.

Here is a (mostly complete) list of UniFi IP ranges <s>that TM assigned to my router from October to December 2019. I live in PJ area, subscribed to UniFi 500 M, using C1200 V1, with ipv6 enabled.</s>

Note : * Not confirmed

- 60.48.x.x
- 60.49.x.x (contributed by cba5566)
- 60.50.x.x
- 60.53.x.x

- 110.159.x.x

- 115.132.x.x
- 115.133.x.x
- 115.134.x.x
- 115.135.x.x

- 118.100.x.x
- 118.101.x.x

- 124.13.x.x

- 175.136.x.x
- 175.137.x.x
- 175.138.x.x
- 175.139.x.x
- 175.140.x.x
- 175.141.x.x
- 175.142.x.x
- 175.143.x.x
- 175.144.x.x
- 175.145.x.x

- 202.188.x.x

- 203.106.x.x

- 210.186.x.x
- 210.187.x.x (contributed by cba5566)
- 210.195.x.x (contributed by cba5566)

*- 218.111.x.x (contributed by cba5566)
- 219.92.x.x

P.S. <s>Previously, I used to get 210.186.x.x and 210.195.x.x series, but no longer these days.</s> All TM ipv6 addresses start with 2001:e68:: prefix.

S-Video to Component/ HDMI converter

Hi all,

I have a tiny question... I have a LCD HDTV with one port each for VGA, RCA and Component, and four HDMI ports. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a S-Video port. The device that I'm trying to use can output through RCA and S-Video, but does not support VGA, Component or HDMI, and the RCA signal is very poor. I plan to get a S-Video to HDMI converter to overcome the problem.

Here's an example from eBay.

I am quite reluctant to purchase the converter online from international sellers (due to some sour past experiences), it's a last resort.

Is there any recommended store in Low Yat Plaza or Klang Valley that sells rare/ obscure equipment like this ? It could also be a S-Video to Component converter, and up-scaling capability is not a necessity.

Many thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

The reasoning is as follows;

I plan to hook-up an old PlayStation (PS1) to the HDTV. The standard RCA/ Composite cables for the PS1/2/3 are not recommended for HDTVs (poor video quality), and PS1s aren't compatible with the Y Pb Pr Component cables from the PS2/3. The best solution is to use S-Video cables, which is better than Composite, but still worse than Component. There's also the RGB SCART cable, which is super hard to find in Malaysia. I think finding the PS1 S-Video cable is not a huge issue, as Sony made the same cables for the PS2 and PS3 too if I'm not mistaken, all interchangeable. But if you think there's a better solution for the problem, please do let me know ! ... I'm a noob.

LED/Xenon rear number plate lights ?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to find suitable LED/Xenon aftermarket number plate bulbs for;

1] my 2007 Saga LMST,
2] and my dad's 2011 Corolla Altis.

It looks something like this;

AFAIK, this is absolutely legal by our JPJ standards, so long as it's not too bright, and it's very common on modern Euro cars. It's not really 'Ah Beng'-ish either. lol

Please, any suggestions would be more than welcomed. I'm a noob at this kinda stuff. Thanks in advance !

Can get spare parts at kedai kereta potong ?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if it is possible to BUY or SALVAGE spare parts from those 'kedai kereta potong' or wreckers/ scrapyard in the Klang Valley area ?

I'm looking for spare parts like bumpers, old hubcaps / alloy rims and stuff, I'm trying to recondition my 2007 Proton Saga LMST.

I prefer not to buy new ori parts 'cause the car is a short term investment and not worth the expenditure. I would much rather go for D.I.Y style and jimat a few hundred bucks instead.

I understand that it is possible to get spare parts for very little $$$ from car scrapyards in some countries like the U.S. and Australia, but I don't know if it is possible to do that here in Malaysia.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions and help !

UniFi IP address list

Hi guys, just wanna check the current state of IP addressing for UniFi subscribers... now I've been on UniFi for as long as it has existed, and I remember it first started out with 110.159.xxx.xxx then it moved on to 175.13x and 175.14x. Late 2011, 210.195. was introduced, then 210.18x. Then suddenly got 60.xx for a short while, which is Streamyx IP address range if I'm not mistaken. Now I can only get 110.159 and 175.1xx. I know the IP addresses are quite irrelevant to most of us but it makes a lot of difference on Netindex and Google/ YouTube statistics. This data is very, very valuable because it goes down into the official textbooks and records.

Anyway, I just wanted to check if I've missed out anything... the full list of UniFi IP addressed that I'm aware of;

110.159
210.195, 210.187, 210.186
175.138, 175.139, 175.140, 175.141, 175.142, 175.143
and 60.xx which I'm not so sure of.
115.132 contributed by Chong O.K.

Please help complete this list, I would appreciate it big time, thanks guys.
