Unifi speed upgrade scam for tel line (condo)user

I use the word scam because I felt cheated. Sorry if inappropriate admin, you can read and decide is a scam or not.

My issue only applied for high-rise building/apartment/condo that using telephone line (VDSL technology) to conect unifi.

Here is what I am facing, I being paid extra rm40-50 for my 30mbps and waiting for 10x promised upgrade. I been talked to two supports within 1 month regarding my upgrade schedule and non of them can confirm the date. First support said I am eligible for 10x (300mbps) upgrade but not sure the actual date.

So today I had decided to take the rm129 (100mbps) package. I had done the research VDSL should able to run up to 100mbps and VDSL2 should go 300mbps.

Talk to the online support, than they said my building do not support 100mbps. They advise me go to TM point to ask for hidden non fiber package, the kind TM support also give me a hint said I can bargain the price around rm 119 for 30mbps. (Where is my eligible 10x now?)

So I went to midvally mall's TM point, they checked my account and show me their PC, from a drop down box, what I can choose is rm139 for *SAME* 30Mbps. Wa.ta.heck? They already know I can't get 10x but why the first support said OK?

Then, I said maybe you can offer me rm119 for 30mbps but the tmpoint ppl ask me go HQ to bargain.

Can you feel it? TM try to drag. They want you to pay and end up your building can't support the actual speed.

For any apartment/condo user, please check your building max speed and do not believe the *bs they say you eligible for upgrade! Please do not wait! Go ask them now!

PS I got all the conversation voice record and printscreen with online support. Maybe I should complaint to kpdnkk...

Flexi House Loan - keep or clear it

Hi

Lets say you got one scenario where the amount in your Flexi's current account is same with what you loan (which mean no interest charge).
Should I clear my house loan earlier or I keep in the money inside my current account as emergency backup?

I prefer describe the situation in real life scenario.

loan 500K, tenure 30 years, current finished 10 years. principal 100k, owning 400k, monthly 2500

RHB car insurance claim (for Hyundai)

I had meet car accident last week and I had done the police report, somehow I can't find any repair center that support RHB motor insurance claim. the original hyundai repair center at Chan Sow Lin is tie to Tokio Marine only.

Credit Card balance 100% auto deduct from bank acc

I knew the best answer is call the bank... but I prefer to ask sifu here first.

Here is my situation,
I having HSBC bank account and HSBC credit card, and I had set 100% auto payment, deduct from my banking account.

The problem is I am expecting 100% deduction which mean credit card balance turn zero at the end of the month but it didn't. because of confusing, sometimes I paid before auto deduct and cause pay in advance to bank (Cr)

Only recently I figured it out the way of auto payment is they auto deduct for last month balance.

best explain as below:

month 1 balance: RM1000
month 2 blance : RM 1500

at the end of month 2,
it deduct RM1000 while i expecting it deduct RM2500

Is that every bank work in this way?

Finally, Happy New Year 2014.
I had done my 1Km wifi setup and the outcome very impressive.

the mission is to link my house unifi to my mother-in-law house:

[unifi]-->[unifi router]<--->[NSM5]<- - - 1km - - ->[NSM5]<-->[router]<--wifi-->[devices]

Location: KL/Selangor

Check list:
1) ubquiti nanostation M5 X 2 units (RM350 each from advancedatan.com)
2) CAT-6 23AWG LAN cable X 2 (RM30-70 find in lowyat)
3) WIFI router (i use cheap Tenda router) to share the internet
4) Optional* cheap water pipe to shield the cable (70cent/ft)
5) Optional* steel pipe about 5ft (RM 12)
6) Optional* cement and sand (RM 5)

item #4 #5 #6 are for outdoor setup

NOTE* please use good quality CAT6 cable, 23AWG, not 24AWG for long range because the PoE (power over ethernet) will lost due to cheap and thin cable and causing the NSM5 up/down all the time. my first failure is using cheap 40m CAT5.

Actually it is quite simple....

1) Configure your NSM5, please follow this tutorial, it will save your time alot!!!

Note 1* After watching the youtube, please go to Advance tab and set your distance from 0.6 miles default to something else greater, I set 27Km for my house NSM5 and 10Km for mother-in-law house NSM5 else you got not enough throughput to link both distance.
Note 2* Please set your wifi access password as the tutorial ask you not to set, I'm using WPA2.
Note 3* I am using 5Ghz, not 2.4Ghz wifi for less interference.

2) mount the first NSM5, make sure it is line of sight.

3) build your base to mount the second NSM5, just mix some concrete and sand into those "CNY" plastic container and stick you steel pipe inside, wait for two days.

4) make sure everything is setup properly and bring your NSM5 to your destination for setup.

Note1* Make sure the LAN cable is gently pass through the pipe
Note2* Use some aluminium foil to wrap the exposed LAN cable

5) adjust your NSM5 to get best signal, I just agak agak only...

6) setup your 2nd wifi router and share the internet out, you are done.

The result is superb!!!

The links speed is from 240Mbps to 300Mbps from airOS, RSSI is -64dbi for 1Km, which is better than my router signal from living room (unifi router) to my house toilet.

when I benchmark unifi speed from my mother-in-law house, I get full speed. wow

The legality of this setup in malaysia.
Just check with skmm spec and it is legal as my frequency is 5.7Ghz and ubiquiti NSM5 having max throughput of 600mA which is less than 1 watt under 5Ghz category.

Here is the picture showing medium (heavy?) rain and I can achieve -64dbi with 270Mbps-300Mbps speed. wifi quality remains same during rain.

Didn't found any issue (03-Mar-2014), noticed something, during heavy download, the speed will drop to 180Mbps and rise up again if download stop.

Almost 2 years, this setup didn't create any issue, network is smooth and consistent.
