Malaysia to get Twentieth Century Fox theme park

Malaysian casino operator Genting's resort unit will build a 400 million ringgit ($125 million) Twentieth Century Fox Theme Park near the capital Kuala Lumpur, it said Friday.

The park to open in 2016 will be the first Twentieth Century Fox theme park with rides and other attractions based on such blockbusters as Ice Age, Life of Pi, Alien and Night at the Museum, Resorts World Genting said in a statement.

Jeffrey Godsick, president of Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, said the park marked the launch "of our global location based entertainment strategy".

"For the first time, audiences will soon be transported into the worlds of their favourite Twentieth Century Fox properties," he said.

Built on more than 25 acres (10 hectares), the park will feature more than 25 rides and attractions, the statement said.

It replaces an older outdoor theme park, which is part of Resorts World Genting located at the peak of an area known as Genting Highlands.

The resort, which also includes the country's sole casino and has attracted more than 20 million visitors per year since 2011, is undergoing a reportedly three billion ringgit refurbishment.

Muslim-majority Malaysia has banned gambling but allows non-Muslims to bet at the casino in Genting Highlands, on horse-racing and the national lottery.

Asia's first Legoland theme park opened last September in the southern Malaysian state of Johor in an economic hub across a narrow waterway from Singapore.

Smoother ride with new trains

KUALA LUMPUR: Commuters can look forward to better service when four new KTM Berhad six-car-set (SCS) trains are launched by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhiyiddin Yassin at KL Sentral tomorrow.

The new KTMB six-car-set coaches come with enhanced features, including closed-circuit television cameras, and additional coaches for female passengers.

KTMB corporate communications senior manager Mohd Fazil Ismail said the improved trains were part of the sixth National Key Result Areas (NKRA) initiative to enhance the urban public transportation system.

The government had allocated RM2 billion to KTMB to improve its services under the NKRA.

"We expect to cut down intervals between each trip to 10 minutes when all the 38 new SCSs are operational by June.

"SCS can also accommodate 1,100 passengers, twice the present capacity," said Fazil yesterday.

With additional features in the SCS, commuters can expect a more comfortable and safe ride.

The trains feature closed-circuit television cameras, two additional coaches for female passengers, three rows of hand rails for standing passengers and a better-designed sitting area for the disabled.

10 new trains for M'sia's main rail operator

A total of 10 new six-car trains will be added to Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad's (KTMB's) Komuter train fleet by the end of March.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said the new trains were needed to ease congestion on the current trains, which he said were running over-capacity.

KTMB ordered eight more 6 car trains

KTMB president Dr Aminuddin Adnan said two sets of six-car trains were currently being commissioned, or tested, before they were open to the users.

"We expect to carry out the final stage of commissioning next month, and introduce them to commuters."

He said KTMB had ordered eight more six-car trains that would take 12 to 18 months to arrive.

HD 6870 Power Requirement

Can my PSU support HD6870 ?

My specs:

Phenom II x 4 955
Gigabyte 880gm-ud2h
4GB Kingston Value RAM DDR 3
Seagate 500GB 7200RPM
Silver Stone strider 500w

I've read on the AMD website on HD6870 power requirement, it says need 500w or greater. So was wondering if my true power strider 500w can handle it with all the spec in my comp.
