Need serious opinion

I'm 22. Due to some unexpected circumstances, I have to quit my job. My main concern is that I've just recently got myself into a car loan. With my current financial standing, I can only sustain for another 2 months - either I find a new job soon in within this period or I'll be doomed. How high is my risk? Do you think 2 months is realistic enough for me to secure a job?

I've been around several shopping malls trying to find male's slim-cut short sleeves work shirt with preferably S size for my smaller build but to no avail. It has to be work env. friendly (smart casual)

Any fashion savvy here can help? I've tried SEED G2000 etc they don't do such designs.

Need some desperately

Dilemma

So I've been with this Chinaman company for a while now and still not confirmed. When I first joined in I had high hope for career growth opportunities and was very confident but all that has had vanished since. It is a small firm and currently theres only me in my department so my direct superior always expects me to hands-on projects without any guidance. Things go rough as theres no training & development provided, plus I am quite fresh. Worse, my superior is only a few years older than me - very inexperienced in running business, skeptical, and do not think of the impact before implementing plans. The only reason he's there is because he's the successor of his family business.

He doesn't follow SOP, refuses to listen to your ideas and only follow whatever he thinks is right (which often screws up stuff due to this). I hold a position that should by right be travelling a lot outdoor, but in my contract there is no stated allowance/claims/whatever remuneration that would be provided for this purpose. I've personally talked to him regarding this matter as he claims that I'm not being enthusiastic enough in my job responsibility. Now he's even planning to hire a senior for my department thinking that stuff can be done better from there on. Point is that he just doesn't get where the problem actually lies. I'm so tired, I wanna quit so bad, but at the same time also worried that at this quarter of the year its difficult to get new job.

What should I do?

Gauging Interview Performance

How do you gauge your chances of getting hired after an interview? Based on experience so far, usually if a company is not keen on me, the interview duration will be short and the interviewer would hint me in various ways that I have failed.

Just last Friday I have attended a first interview where they asked me about my salary expectation and notice period required, so I believe I have aced it and have quite a fair chance to land the job. They mentioned they would call me by this week for a second interview, which I have yet to receive from them so far. I know I shouldn't be worrying since it's only Tuesday, but knowing the fact that if a company is really interested in me they would've just saved the hassle and responded immediately really bothers me.

Please correct me if I am wrong?

My notice period before confirmation is 1 week. I would like to know, say, if I were to dump my letter by 24th August and start serving my period on the 25th, would I get the whole month salary (inclusive of the 31st P. Holiday)? Can notice period be offset by public holidays as well?

Application via Email

Usually, companies will have a career section on their website which states that applicants may submit their CV to the HR email address to be processed. However, I would like to know if it actually works? Has anyone actually gotten a response through such an application method? Personally I feel its a waste of time cause I myself have applied to alot of co's through email and apparently they just dont care.

Is it just me or anyone else had better luck?

Interview FAQ

Hey LYN,

Something came to my mind today right after I attended an interview. I've been through several of them this few weeks, and unfortunately still no news. Thing I am curious is that, why do most employers ask the similar question - whether if a candidate attended any other interviews before this, and if they do, how well did s/he fair in those interviews?

Usually I would say that I think I did pretty good, and no news from them after that. Is that the answer employers really want? And why do they ask such a question, is it because I performed badly?

Thanks.

whats the problem?

im using k300i (yes old - bout 2-3 years) and just yesterday i accidentally dropped it on the concrete floor, at about the height of 2-3 feet. it was still working fine, but just today i found out that its unable to recharge. i tried it on another charger and its the same so obviously its not due to faulty charger. the phone was running fine until the battery went flat and it turned off.

so what could be the problem - the battery or the phone itself? i cant be bothered to visit the repair shop any time soon unless its really necessary. if its the battery, how much is the market price now?

any expert could shed some light please?

Economy Recession

Recently I have applied several jobs via recruitment agency and turned out that most companies freeze the job offers with no apparent notice.. supposed to be due to the bad economy issues.

It is rediculous when you are the right fit for the job but they freeze your opportunity due to this. Question is, how bad has it affected western Malaysia? I know it hit Penang pretty bad, MNCs like Flextronics and IBM... what about Klang Valley area?

What do you think?

Group Application

A jobseeker is really interested in joining one of the companies in within the Group, and since its MNC, chances are the Group may not have a hiring website for the specific region/country. The jobseeker browsed the global website of the Group and still couldn't find any vacancies in his country. In addition, he has tried his luck on the popular recruitment websites and agencies like jobstreet and monster without any results.

Question is, knowing that the Group does operate locally, how should the jobseeker submit his resume over for consideration? Is there any other methods than resorting to fax/snail mailing to them?
