Unifi 30mbps router issue

Recently I've got a promotion for the Unifi 30mbps. However my wireless connection only gets up to 10mbps and it's getting really unstable. Wired connection on the other hand gets max speed and rarely have any problems at all except at times where the modem decides to kill itself forcing a restart which is normal.

Do I have to get another router and replace the stock Unifi modem or just get an Access Point and hope for the best? I do want to make sure everyone in the house get the proper speed and stability of course.

Type of modem : Stock Unifi modem black version. (Not the usual white and orange)

Currently using an ASUS A53T laptop. I currently have trouble with the USB port on the right side. It seems that it can only supply power but cannot transfer data at all. But the funny part is that the port works fine when it goes to bios but is considered dead straight after going to windows. Is my laptop done for?

Buying Headphone in conjuction to Zalman's mic

I've been doing some research about Zalman's Clip on mic and I'm positive with it. It's on my buy list right now. The only remaining thing I want now is a headphone. My budget is around RM 250 so that means a good headphone brand is required. I'm mostly into gaming and of course getting a separate mic with separate headphone is weird but soundwise it would be good yes?

My ears are big so that means I need a headphone that has enough room for my ears to be comfortable. Any brand is recommended by the way. Mostly into gaming + music.

And finally I need to know where I can get the required stuff that I and you guys will suggest. I don't want to waste time walking aimlessly around KL trying to find stuff that are not available here.

I just installed unifi. Everything is perfect. Tested the speed by downloading updates on steam and get at least 400~500kb/s. Now when my brother uses his laptop, he literally suck the internet. From 400~500kb/s I get 100+kb/s. Is there any way I can limit the speed laptop users can get since I'm on the desktop and obviously the main pc user here.

2nd monitor flickers in Dual Mode

I thought about making use of my old monitor. So I made a dual monitor setup. Everything's pretty simple but now there's an odd problem that is happening. Usually the 2nd monitor will flicker when I use any applications. The first one remains the same but the 2nd one will flicker a plenty. So what's the problem here?

For the first monitor I use a DVI cable while the 2nd monitor i use VGA. Are the cable's responsible for this flickering?

Desktop Mic or Headphone + mic?

Just a simple question about this. I've been using a headphone with mic but I'm kinda disappointed the fact that I can't really use it to do one of those commentary videos on youtube. I'm thinking of buying either a destop mic or a Headphone + mic. Here's some info just in case

1 : I am a gamer. So I use the mic a lot for voice chat
2 : budget around RM 100~150.
3 : I don't like cheap brands.
4 : Mobility is somehow important.

I hope you guys can suggest me since I'm pretty bad at buying microphones/headphones.

Need help fixing a game crash

Few days ago I got my legit copy of DJ Max Trilogy. The game work flawlessly on the desktop but on my brother's laptop it's another story. After passing the patch launcher, the game will go dark for a second and then it crashes to desktop. I did try installing it to 32 bit Program files but the problem presists. What's the possible solution I can use to fix it?

Intel Core i3-380M 2.53GHZ
ATI HD Mobility 5470
4 GB ram
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit

EDIT - I am thinking that one of the reason that the game won't launch is due to direct x and or visual library. Is it possible?

I'm having some problems with a game called All Points Bulletin Reloaded. Even with my rig, the game crashes too little too often. I read on the forums that one of the ways to fix the crash is by using this command

bcdedit /set IncreaseUserVa 3072

Before I do this, what does the command actually do?

This just happened recently. I am having trouble with either skype or my microphone. It seems that my friend can hear whatever I am using like games, songs etc. I keep on trying to fix it but I can't. I disabled stereo mix, I unplugged my microphone, but it's useless. It doesn't seem to be fixed. Is there any solutions?

My soundcard is the basic Realtek HD thingy.

Wacom Bamboo Touch and Bamboo Pen Difference

I'm trying to figure out whether I should buy a Bamboo Touch or a Bamboo Pen. I don't really know the difference between both of them but for the pricing, I do know that Touch is a lot more cheaper than Pen (RM100 cheaper to be precise) Can anyone advise me which one I should buy? I'm not buying this to draw or anything but mostly on a certain game that supports tablets and for everyday pc life.

Low in game voice in Source Games

I've been thinking quite hard lately about this. In source games like Team Fortress 2 or Counter Strike source, my in game voice sounds low to almost quite. But it doesn't do like this when I use programs like Skype or Mumble. I tried microphone boost but it will make my audio sounds like total crap even though I set it to 10 Db.

Is there any solution for this?

Trouble turning on the pc

Lately I am having trouble turning on my pc. Everything is fine. Gaming and stuff have no effect what so ever. But right now, I'm having trouble turning on my pc. Sometimes I need to press and hold the power button and hope that the pc will turn on. Is there something wrong with my stuff? This is making me rather concerned.

I am having some...complications. I have another user in my house in which is my brother. The problem is that the download rate from his laptop will make me lag when I'm play games and so on. I need a way to at least limit the download rate to at least 50Kb/s or my choice so that both of us won't have the same issues. Any solutions?

Speakers Doesn't mute when I plug in my headphone

I don't think this is a technical question but I just want to ask.

So anyways I bought a new headphone and it's with microphone. The problem is that when I plug in the headphone into the jack in front of my cpu, the speakers won't mute. I can still hear sounds from both the microphone and the headphone.

2nd : I kept hearing voice of myself talking and I don't know how to disable it.

I hope this will be enough to help me though.

It's been a while since I last posted here.

So anyways I have been using the Xbox 360 Headphone which needs to be plugged in to the controller itself. Yes it's quite useful especially for gaming but now I feel like it's time to change it because :-

1 : Needs to be plugged in to the controller
2 : I cannot just disconnect the controller and use it somewhere else because I share the controller with my brother (He plays football games a lot)
3 : I got trolled once because someone else have the same headphone as I am and I sound exactly the same as the other guy
4 : In skype, my friend told me that my headphone has quite a high bass

My budget is around RM30~50. I don't want microphones that is stuck with a headphone (the xbox headset only has one earphone) because I want to fully maximize the use of my speakers. And I prefer the ones that has the shape like the xbox headset.

I hope I explained enough..

Hello. I have a Buffalo HD-PE160U2 Hard disk. And today, when I want to access it, it's loading really really slowly. I got a feeling that it is going to die. Is there any solutions for me to either make sure it's still good or somehow backup the stuff I have? It's a 160 GB with 18GB left on the hard disk. Please help me, I don't want to lose all the files that I have in there including games, sofwares and animes.

Good news : I can somehow download the games that I have which is pretty small.
Bad news : I may have to sacrifice my animes and other stuff in there...

Extra info : When I look at the hole of my external I noticed that board-ish thing is bent upwards.

Where can I find this mouse and is it good?

Unable to connect to EA Online

Hello. I am having problems when trying to log in to my account in Bad Company 2. I always get unable to connect to EA Online error. I don't know why this is happening but it has been like this for a week and half now. I did try these things

1 : Restart my modem
2 : reinstall punkbuster

Both of these options failed. And I am sure that firewall isn't the problem because I can log in before normally even though I enable firewall I am able to log in normally. Please help me.
