Steam Regional Restriction?!

Hey guys,

First off, me and my buds are steam gamers. We use steam to purchase and play online games.

The thing is, my friend is going to India to study soon. And I am wondering if a Malaysian steam account will work in India?

AFAIK, another friend of mine studies in UK. He had to create another steam account, repurchase all the games he wanted in order to play steam games in UK.

So, my question is, will a Malaysian steam account works in India? or does my friend need to create an Indian steam account?

hey guys, so if i am regretting undertaking curtin foundation, is there any other uni that accepts curtin foundation?
what i'm trying to say is, i am about to complete the foundation program and is there any other uni that will accept me?

Wireless Router to a Proxy Server?

hello,

well, i'm trying to configure a wireless router to be used in my dorm. my university has a proxy server in the dorm (ethernet wall socket).
Normally, we just buy an ethernet cable and plug it into the socket and then to computer, configure the browser for an http proxy server settings, log in, and finally go online.
I'm bringing a wireless router over this sem. Is there anyway for me to configure my router to broadcast wifi so that i may use it? theoritically, and practically.
Any help is much appreciated. thanks

oh and, i did some reseach but i still don't know how to configure my router. the options in the settings for the connections are Ethernet, PPPoE, PPTP and L2TP. which one am i supposed to select? again, much thanks

Auto sensing secondary master hard disk D:

every once in a while when i boot my comp, i will get an error auto sensing secondary hard disk message. then i have to power it off and on again, again and again. until i get to boot into my windows.

i suspected it was a case of bad contact? but i opened up the cpu and clean up a lil bit, unplug and plug the contact wires back. i'm still getting the error. i asked in another forum, but i'm still not getting anywhere. =/

i want my comp to boot perfectly each time, not getting errors randomly. it's really frustrating. can anyone help me?

my computer is a dell XPS420 factory build.
intel core 2 quad q6600 2.4ghz
vista sp2
2x1gb necc dual channel ddr2 667mhz sdram
500gb sata hard drive (WDC) [partitioned into two drives]
256mb nvidia geforce 8600gts
on the psu: make - dell, model - L425P-00, dc output - 425W

well, i was trying to make my old pentium 3 dinosaur to boot linux from the usb port.
then, i found out my old motherboard doesnt support usb booting.

i googled around and found this

it's a boot manager powerful enough to allow usb booting without support from BIOS and motherboard.

but... after installing only did i notice that it doesnt work with linux.. so all my hardwork is gone to waste.

but wait !! i just cant uninstall it.. seems like PLoP is intergrated to the boot section of my windows xp.
I deleted all files i've installed but the boot manager stays. system restore doesnt work too. PLoP just stays

so, my question is, are there any other ways to get rid of it? because im thinking of using Windows XP Recovery Console.. if other options are not available.. so, lowyat forumers, suggestions? thanks :D

BSoD on Windows XP SP3

hi all, so i got BSoD twice within a night.

the 1st time the tech info was 0x0000008E (0x80000004 0x806EAAC9 0xA6299704 0x00000000)

and the second was 0x0000008E (0x80000004 0x806EAAC9 0xA50B704 0x00000000)

The system info is Xp SP3, 4GB RAM (but it only says 3 in dxdiag), intel core 2 duo T6400 and Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family 256MB.

The computer was running PPStream while it crashes, both times. However this has never occured before. I dont think any new program was installed lately. Nor any new driver installed.

i tried googling the error message, it only comes up with the 0x0000008E 0x80000004 0x806EAAC9 chain, which isnt much help at all.

So, guys, a lil help? thanks

Question about Curtin Accredition: Civil Engineer

so, im planning to take CivE course in Curtin, did some research and found out that you have to be accredtied to be able to work in Msia

according to that.. curtin's CivE is no longer accredited.. help anyone?

Civil Engineering in Msia !

So, im thinking of taking Civil Engineering course in Malaysia.

i have shortlisted a few uni's after my research:
Curtin
KLUIC

both of em are accredited by the BEM
however the full course of Curtin costs 84k MYR while KLUIC costs slightly less than 60K MYR

my question is, should i go for the cheaper option, lowering my parents' burdem, or
Curtin, which i heard is very reputable?

Any suggestions are also welcomed.. peeps, help me !! thanks

EDIT: i forgot to mention that the course in curtin is a regulat degree, while KLIUC offers hon. bach.
