email for windows 7

I've been looking thru your forums, but hard to find answers to my queries.

1) Anybody can help me to restore a corrupted "Inbox" in outlook express? One day when I opened OE in XP, the inbox was completely empty. Upon searching the net, found someone who said that in OE, the size of the Inbox has a limitation of 2MB. I guess my Inbox got bigger than that. I have some inportant email in there that I need to recover. Can anyone help?

2) I recently bought a desktop with Windows 7. They recommend windows mail live (WML or is it WLM) instead of OE. I'm not sure how OE works? Does it work more like gmail or yahoomail or does it work more like OE or Outlook or Thunderbird? Are there any limitations with WML like there are with OE?

Thanking you all in advance.
