Flooring: marble vs laminate

Hi Guys,

Want to ask for opinion. A 20 yrs ++ house with marble floor. but looks very dusty and messy.

Should put laminate floor or polish it? will polish improve the looks? Below is the picture. i need to consider the cost also. Not to say cheap is better, but worth the money and long lasting.

Im now working as software engineer, dealing wit most oil n gas solution (alaa client are petronas petrochemical plant)
Income: 5500
1 yr aldy

got an offer as offshore facilities engineer
Income:6000

Now i dunno which 1 to choose,which 1 is more higher prospect.
Do software engineer is good future prospect?
How bout facilities engineer?working in offsore?
