Gamers are as passionate about their gaming consoles as auto buyers are about their cars, according to a survey from Ipsos Loyalty.

Gaming consoles and cars received the highest scores on the Ipsos Loyalty Satisfaction Index, 8.31 and 8.30, respectively. But consumers were relatively unsatisfied with their mobile telephone providers (7.51) and software operating systems (7.51).

Across the industries studied, businesses that rely on face-to-face service tended to outperform technology-driven sectors. For example, banks came in third (8.09) in the study.

"Americans viewed their banks favorably," said Tim Keiningham, global chief strategy officer at Ipsos Loyalty. "The good news for banks is that despite the recent financial crisis, Americans tend to hold positive feelings about the place where they bank. Clearly, Americans distinguish between the bailout and the local branch of their bank."

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier (previously known as Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 4) is an upcoming video game published by Ubisoft and due for release in 2010. Excluding expansions, it is the fourth installment in the Ghost Recon series, and was announced to be in development by Ubisoft on January 22, 2009.The game will be a futuristic take on the Ghost Recon series.

Initially, the title was revealed to be Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Predator by an OFLC release. However in December 2009, "Ghost Recon: Future Soldier" was trademarked by Ubisoft, raising speculation that this could be the name for the upcoming Ghost Recon 4. Which was subsequently confirmed by an official announcement.

While the release of Ghost Recon Future Soldier was targeted for the 2009-2010 fiscal year, Ubisoft later announced that the release date would be pushed back until the 2010-2011 fiscal year to "strengthen" its video game line-up.

On February 9, 2010 Ubisoft officially announced, Ghost Recon Future Soldier. The game will offer a beta to gamers who buy Splinter Cell: Conviction on the Xbox 360 in 2010. Ubisoft confirms two Nintendo system version, which is the Wii and DS.

Sony Planning Paid PSN Subscriptions For 2010

Kaz Hirai confirms premium level will be added on top of PS3 and PSP's online service, which will remain free to play online; PSN revenue expected to hit $563 million this fiscal year.

One the biggest selling points of the PlayStation 3 is that gamers can use the console to play online at no additional charge. However, evidence has surfaced that the company is planning a two-tiered subscription model for the PlayStation Network similar to--but also fundamentally different from--Xbox Live.

Sony is mulling a premium version of PSN.

Slides accompanying a Thursday presentation by Sony show that the company is planning a "new revenue stream from subscription" on PSN in 2010. [UPDATE] During the presentation, which emphasized Sony's plans to make its game business profitable in the next fiscal year, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Kaz Hirai confirmed the plans. "We will be building upon our current free [PSN] service offering with premium content and services to start the subscription model," he told attendees.

Perhaps to assuage PS3 owners' fears that they would soon have to pay to play online, Hirai issued a subsequent statement indicating the present level of service would remain gratis.

"SCE will further increase sales by offering users new entertainment through the combination of hardware, software, peripheral, and PlayStation Network," Hirai said in a statement given to British outlets, such as CVG. "Especially in the online area, we are studying the possibility of introducing a subscription model, offering premium content and services, in addition to the current free services." (Emphasis added.)

As of press time, US Sony reps had not offered Hirai's statement or further clarification about its subscription plans for the PlayStation Network. Luckily, though, the "current free services" currently offered on PSN include online play, Facebook integration, and Netflix video streaming. On Xbox Live, both of those features are only accessible at the Gold membership level, which costs at least $50 per year.

[UPDATE] Even without subscriptions, PSN revenue is on the rise. For the current fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2010, Sony expects ¥50 billion ($563 million) in earnings from the service, a threefold increase from the year prior. In addition to game-related content, the PSN's retail component--the PlayStation Store--offers video offerings, such as television shows and movies for both rental and sale.

3D TV has been a promise stretching back into the 1950s, known as the Golden Age of 3D, when Disney, Paramount and Universal all had 3D film offerings and at the time felt the technology was the way of the future for video content. What killed that vision was the eye strain and headaches that usually resulted from an evening of viewing a 3D movie.

Fast forward a few technology cycles later, and 3D has come around again. For the past few years we've been seeing fledgling attempts at 3D TV from various manufacturers, but it seems like 2009 is the year all the majors are debuting versions of their own 3D technologies. We had a chance to get our oculars on Sony's working prototype and found the tech to be getting surprisingly close to prime time.

We're still not totally sold on 3D as the true next step of video content, but the clarity and depth of the trailers we saw were rather impressive. Gone are the ghosting and trail effects we've seen in the recent past, and the footage is no longer afflicted with errant afterimages and shadow outlines prominent especially during high motion sequences. The 3D content we saw on Sony's set was crystal clear and immersive.

We can't say we were entirely free of adverse effects after about 8 minutes of viewing. However, it's hard to say how much the 3D content versus a long couple of days of trade show coverage on little sleep was to blame. It definitely seems that the 3D trend is in full swing with Sony, Samsung, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic and Philips all showing off 3D displays on the show floor this year; many of them claim the technology will be in consumer homes as early as next year.

guys and girls.. yesteday i went to pasar malam near my house in taman kosas. that time very heavy rain lah, so i left my lappy bag at the foot area next to the driver seat. After bought all my staffs in pasar malam, i went to my car and i saw my lappy backpack gone. Im just concern about 1 thing..

1) a copy of my IC (photostat)
2) a copy of my licence (photostat)
3) 3 month pay slip
4) epf statement

can this theft do anything with all this documents?? i oredy made a police report at bukit indah police station and JSJ in IPD ampang oredy took some picture..

#if someone want to sell lappy compaq v3000, make sure that it is not stolen items...

Hello guys.. just want to ask you..

I'm using windows movie maker and ulead.. I tried to join a whole bunch of videos from one of my favorite tv series from each seasons. All the process failed because all the videos will be too long.. So do you know any software's that can join whatever length of time i want?? no limit.. thankss
