Help needed: Setting up TP-Link 8961ND for Unifii

Hi everybody, I am an uber noob in terms of setting up a network. I recently bought a TP-Link 8961ND and would like to configure it for Unifii as the current signal strength of the std issue modem is weak.

After browsing through the forums, closest solution I got was setting up for TPLink 8960 by klseect. However, with all the jargons, its.... for me.

Can anyone recommend some technicians or webpage for me to refer too?

Signal strength and antenna placement

Hi Sifu Sifu sekalian,

Have gone through the forum and stickies and would like your thoughts and opinions as to increasing the signal strength in my location.

I have the standard issue TM net unifii modem router and 2 Power Ethernet Aztech adapter installed at the following points:-

-Location A: Wifi Modem and 1 X power Ethernet adapter. (Signal strength: Full bars)

-Location B (About 13 to 15 meters apart) : PC and 1 X Ethernet adapter (Signal strength: about 2 to 3 bars) –
surfing apabilities weak

-Location C: (About 15-17 meters apart, obstructed by concrete and some iron grills) (Signal strength : practically
non-existent)

My question for locations B and C:-

- How do I increase the signal strength for locations B and C? Would an antenna placed in location A help the
signal strength?

- Can recommend me a good antenna compatible with the Unifii modem (budget of say RM150 and below?) Am
trying to avoid the aluminium foils as my parents find them annoying and unsightly

Sorry for the noob questions....

After installing everything and logging on to windows, whenever I move my mouse, the screen flickers.

Opening a program causes makes the screen flicker even more causing a .
