DVD/CD-Rom Drive Freeze in the mid of playing

I'm using Asus n82j laptop that comes with Optiarc DVD RW AD-7580S, Driver version 6.1.7601.17514 for windows 7.

I bought it 3 years ago and i hardly use it for movie/music beside to install software/games & burn music.

Few days back, i tried to use my laptop to watch movie, and while the movie running half way, it suddenly freeze the entire OS. I couldn't move my mouse cursor nor see it.
So, i eject the disc, and everything back to normal. And i insert back the CD, then the CD couldn't be read. I restarted my PC, and insert back the CD, and it plays like normal. After a while, it freezes again. I eject again, and same it couldn't read anymore until i restarted my PC.

Few thing i notice when it freeze:
1. The cd-rom is spinning, i can feel it on my laptop + the sound.
2. the spinning sound abit weird, it got a high pitch sound 'yiiiiiiiiii' continuously until i eject it. This high pitch sound does not appear during normal run.

And, when i knock on the cd-rom, it will unfreeze the OS for like 2 sec, and freeze back. It happens everytime i knock on it. The knocking is not hard, like knocking on a door. (obviously i'm not damaging my laptop)

What could be the cause of this symptom?

Oh ya, 1 more thing. When freeze, and i eject the cd-rom, i notice the CD bend a little bit. The cd-rom bend every CD that runs after certain period, even when i'm installing game that take 20-30 minutes, but it won't freeze, just that the disc will bend after eject. And the disc still useable after that, with a little bending, not as noticeable as when first eject from the cd-rom

[Renovation] Extend + Add Room

Ok, i've simply drawn a layout of the entire Land Area & Built-up of a property.

This unit is a corner unit, but without any free land area on both left & right. The only different between this corner unit and an intermediate unit is that this corner unit has Garden and the additional curve area.

Default intermediate unit will look like a rectangle shape without the Garden and the curve, in whereby the carpark line i drawn, it's only that big.

Assuming the Before is a 2R2B units,
1. Is it possible to make it 3r3b assuming the Built-up is sufficient. My concern is on local authority, which will be MPSJ. Will they approve even i ask my own contractor to draw a plan and rebuild the frontage of the house, mostly.
2. How about i remain it as 2R2B, but i extend the built-up like the Before-After photos.
3. 2R3B?
NOTE: Both ground and first floor extension, not only the ground floor.

And about the rooftop, it is a normal A shape type. If let's say i were to change the rooftop into flat type, do i need consent from MPSJ?

I had a weird dream last night.

Before i went to bed last night, i go on facebook and view some of my friend video, which mainly this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ2ZcmMxehk&sns=fb
And i also watched few other related/suggested video in youtube.

DREAM:-
i'm sitting on a staircase, which can actually overview the rooftop of 2-storey shops in front of me. And suddenly, the SAME sound in the youtube appeared, and i saw an UFO taking off across the 2-storey shoplot. And i took out my phone, and videocam it. So as i videocam the UFO movement, suddenly there is snake on the sky flying, and horses as well. And after few minutes of recording, i saw trillion of fish dropping from the sky, as in like a rain...and i ran to the 2-storey shops with shelter and went inside one of the shop. While inside the shop, i wanted to call my parent and inform them about the scenario, but i received a SMS from my dad, saying that they've encountered the same thing here. (I'm in west malaysia, they are in east malaysia). And so i called up my gf, who worked in an indoor shopping mall, which probably unaware of the scenario. And told her to stop working and i'm going to pick her up. When she ask why, i just say don ask so much, later i'll show you the video. And after the conversation, i try to search the video in my phone, and it's either gone, or i'd accidental deleted it, or i never save at all, due to holding the phone while running away from the fish rain.

What could be the possibility of this kind of dream?

Electricity in Subang Jaya

Would appreciate you guys & gals to input information like usage of electricity in Subang Jaya, mainly for landed property only. Doing a comparison for myself actually cause I found my bill quite high. Not sure if it is norm or I'm missing of something?

I'm not good in dealing with calculation of voltage and watt, so if u found your usage is much more higher than mine, while your bill is cheaper than mine, please do let me know.

Fixed occupant: 3
Fridge: 280l 24 hours
AC: average 10 hours/day/ac. Total 2 in used so 20 hours/day. Both 1hp. So 1 month 600 hours. + Living hall 1.5th AC for a month maybe total 20 hours.
Normal ceiling fan: average 10 hours x 3 nos = 30 hours x30 days=900 hours.
Washing machine: 6.5kgs average 4 hours per week. One month 16 hours.
Hot water boiler: 2 hours/day X 30 days= 60 hours
Water heater: 2 units. Average 2 hours/day. 2x2=4 hours. X 30 days = 120 hours.
32' LCD + DVD player + altec Lansing pc woofer: average 7 hours/day. X30 = 210 hours
Lights: (1 unit)10w=14 hours/day, (1)14watt=14 hours/day, (14)14w=10 hours/day.
Laptop: 2 units. Average 2 hours/day. 4x30=120 hours/month.
Misc: charger x3, hair dryer x2, microwave (hardly use, maybe average 1 hour/week). Rice cooker maybe 6 hours/week.

I guess I listed all the electrical consumption items here.
And my monthly bill is rm250+/month. Is this normal? I remember when I move in, I used to pay less than 100 per month. And I realize after my neighbor did renovation, my bill starting to jump high .

Empire Subang in the future

As on today, a big headline in Selangor state. Empire Subang exploded last night around 3-4am.

i heard from a friend of mine that Signatureit, the management of Fahrenheit 88 shopping complex in KL, has declared bankruptcy?
And the whole complex will be take over by Pavillion management?

Is this true or rumors or fake?

No offense to the management employee or any other parties that are involved. I'm just trying to clarify this issue.

just wondering..i bought a new laptop which is Asus N82JV last week at PC fair KLCC...the price i bought is rm4,999...

but then when i look at the laptop forum here, same laptop but the price is only rm3,999...

may i know what's the different with the price of a thousand ringgit? the specs all seem to be the same...i appreciate for all of your helps that i just wanted to know why the price is thousand ringgit different?

Advice Needed for Wireless Internet Router

I need some experience users here in LYN to enlighten me regarding my problem.

I lived in a 3storey link house. Currently my main wireless router which is D-Link (forget what's the model, will update later) is located on the 1st(ground) floor.
I'm having problem getting internet connection (undetected or bad connection) in my room which is at 3rd floor(highest floor). And even on 2nd floor, the connection sometimes happened to be the same. However if on the same floor where the router located, the connection is good.

So now, I'm planning to buy a desktop and put it on 3rd floor living room. But first that i have to figure out how do i get internet connection from 3rd floor.

I've consulted few of my friends. They suggested me to get an extension of antenna for the router to increase range, or buy a new long-range router, or direct pull the cable from 1st floor router to third floor.

Hopefully i can get the most easiest way and hassle-free to get my connection on 3rd floor. I do not want when i purchase my desktop, and there is not internet connection, the computer will be a total useless for me.

FYI, i'm not a computer freaks and I'm not so into Computer and Technology stuff..
