Ever wonder whether you are a cheapskate?

Hi, I am a student studying Psychology. My group and I have came out with this NEW scale to see whether an individual is a cheapskate. However, before the test is usable (usable in terms of reliability and accuracy), we need participants to validate the test.

BlueScreen, Auot restart, Boot media

I have encountered many auto reboot and bluescreens the last few months (It's still happening now).

Here are the STOP errors that I saw recently: 0x00000077 and 0x000000F4

Besides that, I encountered a really frustrating problem which is
"Reboot and select proper boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key"

I need to restart many times then only it will enter the desktop screen. I searched online and saw people took out the hard disk which I'm not really good at. I just unplugged and replugged cable to the harddisk but the problem persists.

By the way, my mouse is having a problem as well. Sometime when I right clicked, it automatically left clicked as well. Moreover, when I select text, sometimes, it just slipped away and ended up moving words/ letters around.

I couldn't view the minidump file for the BSOD but here's the zip files for the 3 BSOD I encountered recently.

500GB 7200rpm SATA HDD
PIV Futura ATX Casing

Software: Windows XP

I am planning to switch to Windows 8 and upgrade my hardware.

I do photoshop occasionally and stream movies. May I know which hardware should I change to? I'm thinking whether I should get those hardware separately or buy a whole new CPU from dealer? I think some of the hardwares still usable except Power supply as my computer has auto shut down problem.

Can anyone suggest me a list of hardware that is suitable for me? And what will be the prices be about? Thank you.

Hey, I am subscribing Maxis Wired 512 Internet which only runs at 512 kbps. If I'm planning to wireless my home, what should I do? I know I can buy a wireless router from any shop but then I do not know what else should I do and which type of router should I buy? How do I set up everything including setting password?

I know the speed will become slower when I have wireless router but how slow will it go for phone that uses the wireless Internet and pc which uses the wired Internet?

《夺命游戏》 ("The Game") just showed on NTV7 yesterday night. It's a reality drama featuring killer among a group of friends. No script is provided to the actors and actresses. So natural reactions from the actors and actresses keep the movie flows. It's quite nice but it's a bit confused.

SPM Sejarah 2013

I was like "Fuiyoh! Luckily I am no longer a SPM candidate!" when I saw the news on SPM Sejarah 2013. As all of us might have known, SPM candidates have to pass Sejarah in order to get SPM certificate. But that's not the only bad news.... There will be 3 Papers for Sejarah from 2013 onwards.

So, what do you think about the new implementation. A good or a bad news? I do think that most of us will see it as a bad news but who knows, the third paper might be a really easy paper that help students to score

War in the court between Apple and Samsung will be coming to an end soon. The jury in the landmark Apple-Samsung trial ruled mostly in favor of Apple, including awarding Apple $1,049,343,540 in damages. Samsung, on the other hand, was granted a total of $0 in damages.

With big names in the food sector such as KFC, Chicken Rice Shop and A&W signing up, the 1Malaysia Student Discount Card (KDS1M) is set to be a “must-carry” item for students.

Others that have agreed to accept the card include Mydin, Menara Optik, Berjaya Books Sdn Bhd (Borders Malaysia), MPH Bookstores Sdn Bhd and Bata Marketing Sdn Bhd.

“Apart from the cards being free, students will automatically receive it once they enrol at their respective institutions.

“They should be getting their cards which can be used immediately by September. The issuance is being handled by Bank Rakyat,” he said.

Hi, sorry for these noob questions but:

Why wireless internet usually got quota but fixed line will not have any quota?

I am currently subscribed to Maxis Home Wired Internet (Basic 512KB). Form the site (http://www.maxis.com.my/home/mobile/plans_wired_512kb.html), I noticed that it includes 1.5GB quota for Wireless Broadband. What does it mean? Does it mean that if I buy a wireless router, I will have only 1.5GB quota?

I found that everything related to internet uses quota. So, how much can 1.5 GB do? How many youtube videos/ songs can it watch? How many movies can be downloaded? If I exceeds the quota given, will it purchase extra quota automatically?

If my understanding is not wrong, quota is nonequivalent to download volume right? Instead, quota involves download volume, upload volume and many more right? So, Unifi will only have limit for download in the future but not the internet usage as applied by quota?

So my first question: Why 0 and 1 are neither prime number nor composite number? [Added]

I would like to share this with everyone here. I wonder whether you guys know WHY 0 and 1 are not prime number and composite numbers. If you know it, good for you. If you don't, you are probably like me who just memorized what teacher said when I was studying in government school.

I just did a Google search and the answer is so satisfying.

First, we need to know what is prime number. A prime number is a natural number that has exactly two distinct natural number divisors (itself the the number 1). For example, 2 is the first prime number. It has 2 natural number divisors which are 2(itself) and 1. However, 1 has only 1 natural number divisor which is 1(itself), so it is not a prime number.

Secondly, composite number a natural number that has more than two finite, distinct natural number divisors. For example, 4 which is the first composite number has more than 3 natural number divisors, which are 1, 2, and 4(itself). Thus, 1 is not a composite number.

Instead, it It falls in a class of numbers called units. These are the numbers whose reciprocals are also whole numbers.

You may wonder what is a natural number. Natural number is positive whole numbers, which does not include zero. Plus, 0 has infinite number of divisors. It cannot be written as a product of two factors, neither of which is itself. Therefore, 0 is neither prime number nor composite number.

Instead, it falls in a class of numbers called zero-divisors. These are numbers such that, when multiplied by some nonzero number, the product is zero.

Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic says that every whole number greater than 1 is either a prime number or can be written uniquely as the product of prime numbers (except for their order). For example, 9 is the product of 3 and 3. It cannot be written in other ways. If 1 is a prime number, then this fundamental theorem of arithmetic will be violated as it can be written as (3 x 3 x 1), (3 x 3 x 1 x 1 x1 ....). Therefore, 1 is not a prime number.

Hope it helps. It motivates me to learn in the correct way and hope that everyone here will be motivated to learn in the proper and most beneficial way. Learning is not just about exam and memorizing, it is discovering and it is fun^^

Hi! I would like to know if a student quit his secondary school this year when he is Form 5, can he go back to his former secondary school to take SPM with his other classmates? If not, where can he take his SPM test?

How is he going to register for the subjects?

Does it imply that he will be a private candidate?

3G? 4G?

Can I know what is 3G and 4G? and what's the difference between them? Is it necessary to keep a phone's 3G on all the time? What's the purpose of keeping 3G/4G on? (eg keeping wifi on is for web browsing)

One more question, is unlock the same as jail breaking? If not, why do we need to unlock a smartphone?
