Solar Water Heater Safety Setup

Hi Experts,

The new ST guideline 2022 is already out but does not seem to mention the solar water heater at all, despite solar water heater is already so common.

My questions are

1. with such a big body metal parts in the solar tank on the roof - does the body need to be earthed?

2. Current earthing is only through the heating element itself (connected via a switch) which has a Ground wire - is this sufficient? Does this also need to have a dedicated RCD 10ma?

3. Water Pump at the roof - since this connects to water source for all bathrooms - does it need to connect to a dedicated 10ma RCD as well? or it is okay connecting to the existing 30ma meant for all 13A socket?

Can some Sifus here please advise about Solar Water Heater?

Have shortlisted this brand but if any of you has any comment please feel free to share - good/bad/better option?

2. Rain Shower Bar (SS304 Material/Brass/ABS)
In the market there are a lot sold using metals, which we had known from the majority electrocution cases are from the use of metallic materials (hoses. shower head) - can you comment for Solar Water Heater this still applies? And generally if there are any brand (with link/info) to share it will be appreciated.

3. Installation of Water Pump after the water tank- will 2.5mm wire sufficient for this? and must this be 100% direct from DB or can be looped? since it does not turn out all the time

Insurance Process - Accident with Injury

Hi LY-tians,

Would like to ask about the insurance & compensation process when a person gets into an accident with some injury that requires minor operations.

1. The victim (Mr. A) was riding a bike on the highway and out of a sudden, there was a vehicle (MR. B) changed lane and unfortunately caused Mr. A fell.
2. Ambulance came and pick Mr. A to hospital for treatments and now possibly going for minor operations.
3. Police report been made within 24hrs and now Mr. A is still in hospital.

My next questions are:-
1. For vehicle insurance claim, it should be now be done via submitting relevant docs. to the insurance company to pursue the claim, right?

2. How about for the medical treatment cost, should there be another process?

3. Does the above process/steps cover any potential to recover various losses against Mr. B such as unable to work for sometime?

4. Does hiring an attorney is required now or insurance company will handle the rest?

Unifi Frequent Disconnection Issue

Hi All,

First of all, please pardon if there has been any similar threads of issue..

I am having connection issue with my UNIFI since 2 years ago.. Frequent disconnection and I have to restart my modem several times in a day

Called to 100, their solution is always reset reset reset.
TM had since came for 3 times and kept insist they found no issue (well, those issue didnt happen when they were here)..
Until my equipment warranty had now run out and still nobody knows what to do.

If I were to ask them come now, they will charge me for RM53 if they find no issue at their end. But the thing is they came 3 times for the past 2 years and found no issue, and this issue persists up to this date.

So what is your advice on this? I am thinking if you could help with some diagnosis recommendation so I can DIY instead of just engaging them which potentially of not helping base on my past experiences.

Hi Folks,

I have gone through some threads about backpain in this forum but would like to start a new thread to narrow down to some specific answer I am looking at.

I have done an MRI scan which the root cause is at L5-S1 and impacting on my left.

Been to Columbia Asia Hospital Puchong and met the Orthopedist Dr. Khoo Shaw Woei.
The option for treatments are:-
i) Physiotherapy
ii) Injection
iii) Surgery

Which option i) is the first to go. Unfortunately after more than 4 session there seems to be no improvement and my condition had got worsen as of today.

Had some contacts on
1. One Osteo - Dr. Nicolas Grimandi
2. Bone & Joint TCM Clinic - Dr Pang Hong Sok

These are the famous specialist in Klang Valley I have got.

So my questions I am seeking are below

Q1: Are they any other options than I can opt for using my INSURANCE Medical Cards - AIA (Company), GE (Self) rather than fork out my own money if I were to go for the 2 contacts above to get the issue resolved?

Q2. Other than Klang Valley, are there any good contacts in Melaka so I can get this treatment back my hometown while resting there as I have family there. Living alone in KL is not a good option as I still need to look for foods and etc.

Quick question on EPF withdrawal and its dividend.

If you withdraw part of your EPF..let's say June. WIll the dividend still count/pro-rated for the first 6 months?
