Lately I've been bergaduh-ing on X with idiots. Growing up with LYN forum and FB, I tend to write my arguments in whole.

However, X's limitation is severely putting me at a disadvantage. Not that I want to write long articles, but sometimes a fully formed arguments need just several words longer. I've been caught off-guard when writing across multiple tweets when people quoting ONLY the section, putting everything out of context.

I know X Premium allows longer tweets. But I'm not gonna subscribe RM31 per month just so I could gaduh with some randoms better (although I could lol). So I'm asking anyone here who have subscribed to X Premium, how to make it worth the RM31 per month?

GPS tracker for bags/luggage

I'm looking for suggestions on GPS tracker for bags or luggages. I don't know much of these devices, so please educate me.

Issue: My daughter is in boarding school. But her stuffs keep disappearing like toolbox, art supplies bag, violin/guitar and stuffs. So I plan to get some of these trackers and hide it in the bags so I can track it from home (20km away).

Feature wise, it seems that AirTags fits the bill, but I don't have iPhone nor any sort of apple devices. Not rich enough to buy iPhones haha.

How much do these trackers cost?
Does it require simcard?
How long would the batteries last?

Where to find new MS Surface Pro, but older model

Hi all. I'm looking to replace my older Surface Pro 3. It had served me pretty well over 6 years before my daughter broke the screen.

Currently there's funding option to get a new device by my university that covers the first RM3k. Since new Surface Pro models are all above RM5k, that's a bit beyond my budget.

If you know any shops or suppliers that still sell new older Surface Pro models, do hook me up. I need to get invoice in order to apply for the fund. Offer lasts 22 June 2024.

Yo guys. My daughter just masuk asrama, and they don't allow phones in there.

So I'm looking for MP3 players (if it still exists) that don't require internet, big storage, long battery life, fast charging, compact size and easy to update/transfer files.

Optional:
Big screen, bluetooth (for connecting to earbuds), conventional batteries (coz they don't have alot of power points in the dorms).

And where do we get MP3s nowadays?

Learning casual Mandarin

I've been wanting to learn Mandarin for a while. Recently I just completed my basic course with KunKwan, but taking a break before taking the following course due to my hectic schedule.

In the meanwhile, I've started using basics to my students. Just short phrases like:

ni mingbai? keiyi ma?

hai xing ba. yi dian yi dian. zuo de hao.

Of course, I tried using Google translate to make up new phrases, but apparently the sentence structure is not always correct. I'm looking for more of a speaking language that is commonly used in Msia. For example, formal BM would be: "Sudah berapa lama awak belajar di sini?", but conversationally we just ask "dah lama belajar?". So I'm looking for this kind of equivalent:

i. do you want to discuss this/that?

ii. is the work done?

iii. have you completed your work?

iv. what do you need? (in terms of their work)

v. please see me later.

Used cooking oil recycling kiosk

We developed a kiosk to buy used cooking oils to be recycled. Basically you dump used oil in the kiosk, and the kiosk will measure and pay you via app, which will pay you direct to your bank account within 24 hours.

This project was spearheaded by the UTM's chemical engineering team led by Dr. Faizuan Abdullah, and I helped design the overall outlook of the kiosk. Only one prototype at the moment, and installed for test phase in Pulai Perdana, Johor.

What do you guys think? Would you use this if it's near your house?

RV, Caravan, Mobile Homes in Msia

I've been invited to join a small group of RV enthusiasts who seems to be eager to make mobile home traveling a thing in Msia. But I kinda recall a few years ago, these vehicles are illegal on Msian streets.

Anyone familiar with this activity?

I'm aware RVing is common in big countries (because cross country travel could take days), but Msia is small, unless we're talking about from Kuching to Tawau or something. Therefore I never thought this is a thing in Msia.

Hi guys. I'm looking for alternative smartphones that is comparable to Samsung Galaxy M52 5G. Currently I'm just looking to replace my 2016 Huawei P9. It has served me very well, but I think it's time for a replacement. I'm not looking for anything fancy.

I've just started looking around phones around RM1k range. I found the M52 above. I know there are plenty of phones way better than this, and it's not exactly new. So I'm wondering, do you guys have any suggestions on phones that I should look out for that's in the same class with the M52?

Criteria I'm looking for:
i. Good camera, especially indoor and low light, comparable or better to the Huawei P9;
ii. Thumbprint security;
the rest I believe are already standard in most phones.

Is there legal insurance in Malaysia?

As topic. I'm asking if there's any legal insurance that anyone could take, to cover for legal fees in case shit happens and somebody wanted to sue me?

Like, if I accidentally caused injury to someone and he starts to sue me, the insurance will cover my lawyer's fees to fight him in court.

The closest I can find is Professional Indemnity Insurance, but this seems only to cover professionals when they're doing professional jobs in their professional capacity. I'm looking for some average day-to-day occurrences that might suddenly bite me in the ass. I understand legal fees can easily reach RM100k for civil suites nowadays.

1. if the wife divorces the guy, does she retain her Datin?

I've been talking to my friend who runs a small stationary shop. I bought alot from her shop just before the MCO just to help her. But now things are getting worse.

I wanted to help her, so an idea sprung up. What if she sell vouchers, where people can use it to buy things from her shop when it opens? At least she can earn a bit, pay her staffs, bills etc while waiting for MCO to be lifted.

But I read somewhere in /k a few years back that it's actually illegal to do so, though I couldn't find the thread. So I wanna ask you guys, is it possible to sell these vouchers? I mean, it would help those in the service business, like barbershops, spa and so on.

Can I request an IP check on other member(s)?

My friend is being sued at court. She is defending herself in a civil lawsuit where the plaintiff is using screenshots from a LYN thread as evidence against her.

I'm trying to assist her. She needs to establish that one or more person in that thread are an accomplice of the plaintiff, who deliberately trolled LYN forum members in order to elicit specific response that is now being used against her.

Can I request an IP check on these members? I'm also open to any other form of assistance.

I used to be a PC gamer. My last built PC was in 2015. My last laptop was 2016. I am currently using a recycled workstation HP Z400 from 2011. I think it's about time I upgrade to my next PC. Yes, I am kedekut that I wait till the tech gap is big enough before jumping on.

I've been eyeing Illegear Onyx V R7 4800H (RTX 3060) that goes for around RM5.2k.

I know I don't really need RTX 3060 because I don't game that much on PC anymore. But I still have the urge.

So alternatively, I've been suggested ASUS TUF GAMING R5 4600 (GTX1650) at RM3.6k

My question is, how big a generation gap is it between these two? I only game at 1080p. I'm fine with lower detail as long as the frame rate's good. Will I miss anything much, assuming I'm not buying a new laptop within the next 5 years?
