Backup Accounting Data

To be precise, current accounting database are backup at local PC/server, daily backup grown to roughly 130mb right now. I would like to have it backup to other remote location, in case fire/theft. Is it cloud backup reliable? Security is a MUST of course, well encrypted.

We did backup into one external 2.5" HDD daily, but sometimes it shows "Delayed Write Failed" error message. I believe that was due to the server running RAID-1 setup and problem occurs because of the driver. There are others possible errors too.

So yes, please help with your recommendations. Thank you.

SME to buy land for office/warehouse

Thank you for your time reading this.

We are Sdn. Bhd., operated around 27 years, not having OD facility before, with healthy cash flow.
We found a land to setup our own warehouse and office, we decided to buy it, but we do not have enough fund for it.
So we are seeking for bank loan.

I don't want to go to the bank with zero knowledge on this. So here come the questions,

1. Can we get approval from bank if we were only to buy land?
(We need lands first before building, but it costs a hefty RM1.1m)

2. If could not apply loan for land(Only), what should we do? Make a proposal with buildings drew?

3. Let's say built up total costed RM1.5m, we shall apply with that amount of loan?

4. All in all, what makes financial institution buy our proposal?

It will connect to my cheapo TV which does not have HDMI, only VGA & S-video port available.

The scenario, same product need to be delivered,

Our cost, both party, for item A, at RM61 - 40% = RM36.60.
Your competitor is selling item A with the price of RM61 - 35% = RM39.65 w/o transportation fee
Us, selling at RM61 - 35% + RM10/25 transportation fee depends on area

FYI, the item need to be fetches by lorry, normally customer buys around 10 of it.
RM396.50 - RM366.00 = RM30.50 Gross profit for competitor.

What do you have to count in,
- Loading & unloading stocks, fork lift is needed, space, its 20 feet long product.
- Maintenance for your vehicles, 17 feet lorry, 6 tyres.
- Warehouse to keep the stocks.
- Wages, bills, stolen.
- Damaged products, your cost is RM36.60 if you have forgotten.

Gross profit is 8%, you do the math for the rest.
If you were me, will you charge the transportation fee? Why? Why not?

Bank Cut Throat

Yesterday went to the bank and decided to pick up my pink slip for road tax payment on my own. BUT, wtf with the customer service nowsaday? Maybe due to 4.00pm la..

Yelling at me with her cocky sour face, "WE don't give out the pink slip sir!!"
Me, "How am I suppose to pay the insurance and road tax miss?"

She, "Our bank will do it for you!"
Me, "Without any charges?"

She , "Of course NOT! You need to pay service charges for insurance payment RMxx.xx and road tax RMxx.xx!"
Me, "I'm NOT handicapped, even if I AM, I STILL could go to pay on my own! *TUT* the charges! You then take the commission don't you? (With a Joking expression, but I know she will be very angry, LOL!)"

She quickly answer and even more , "NO SIR!! Its the runner for this job who takes it!"
Me, "Ok ok, so is it I'm FORCED to pay the charges no matter what? (I couldn't take out the pink slip no matter how)"

She said, "YES!"
I , "Then you Photostat a copy of the pink slip for me."
(I'm thinking of changing insurance to other firm, and go to print a new pink slip at JPJ)

She again, "Go to the next table! She is the one who handles Road Tax/Insurance stuff!"
I was like .

Staff Next Door, "RM5 Sir!"
I even more , "WTF!? RM5??????????? @#!*(#(!@#$&@#$"
(For a piece of paper that which I could take out and print it next door for RM0.20 max! Yea, I know I couldn't take out anyway )

What to do? We can't take the pink slip no matter what, so, cut my throat to death please.
I ask another friend from PBB, she was also shocked and said,

"We will give it to you if you insists to pay by your own. Its your choice, your time and your money~"
"Waaa, the bank sure kaya-raya."
"Lee, you move to PBB la, we photostat RM0.00 for you, you want how many pieces?"

This time my turn and ....... speechless .....

To sack employee

I have two questions here.

1. What if the employee does not want to sign the warning letter he/she received or gave fake signature? What can we do?

2. Well, if they received all 3 letters altogether, do we(as a employer) have the right to sack them on the spot? Or do we still have to compensate them?

My uncle bought two tickets from MAS Airport Office, what I wanted to ask is, are the tickets applicable to change into open ticket?

What are the conditions or T&C applied if anyone knows? Nothing stated on the itinerary receipt and phone to customer service is last resort.

SuSE's Grub settings

Arrrrrgg.. Newbie comes to installing linux.. Both of the OS on the same hdd..
I installed win XP on first partition, and then followed by SuSE in second partition. Grub is the boot loader by now. Anyone can share the setting on how to set the command for dual boot with Grub?

I have googled around and done some settings, which leads me for 2 times reformat and reinstall of SuSE. Oh well, now wish to get some helps at here.

CRT Monitor Problem

Hmm.. I just received my CRT monitor sent by my dad from my hometown today. It has been kept for one year in store room I doubt?

Unfortunately, there is a small portion like 2 inch from top left to right, top left to bottom suffering colour problem. The colour is gray-ish now. When I change background colour to a different colour, able to notice something like the colour of a drawing has changed due to one drop of water.

I don't think I will bring this monitor to lowyat which is weighted around 18kg.
Any other ideas how to solve it by myself?
