Rob Jetten makes history as the Netherlands’ youngest and first gay prime minister!

Rob Jetten has become the youngest and first openly gay prime minister of the Netherlands after his minority government was sworn in.

The 38-year-old claimed victory in October's election with his Democrats 66 party (D66) narrowly beating anti-Islam populist Geert Wilders in a nail-biting election.

Jetten formed a centre-right minority government with the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) and the Christian Democratic Alliance (CDA).

It is a minority cabinet, meaning every major reform in the coalition deal - from an extra €19bn (£16.6bn) for defence to painful cuts in healthcare and benefits - will have to be negotiated vote by vote in the Netherlands' two parliamentary houses.

The coalition also wants fewer asylum seekers, with refugees having to apply for asylum outside Europe, not after they arrive.

Asylum migration has been a particularly sensitive issue in Dutch politics, contributing to the downfall of the country's last two coalition governments.

Jetten succeeds Dick Schoof as prime minister who oversaw one of the shortest-lived governments in Dutch history.

D66 will provide seven ministers, VVD will provide six, and CDA five, with three state secretaries each - junior members of cabinet.

Jetten was formally sworn in by King Willem-Alexander at the Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague on Monday.

Posting a selfie ahead of his swearing-in ceremony, Jetten wrote on X: "Proud to be doing this together. In a new phase, with great responsibility and, above all, a shared promise to work for everyone in the Netherlands.

"By not dwelling on what's wrong, but by building on what can be improved. That requires courage and collaboration."

In the Netherlands, Jetten's sexuality barely featured in the campaign, which says something about how mainstream LGBTQ equality has become.

But globally, he joins a very small club of openly gay leaders, and for many viewers in countries where coming out carries real risk, seeing an openly gay man become prime minister is a powerful glass‑ceiling moment.

Is it recommended to buy it? Some people said if u buy 2 in 1 washer, the machine will get broken easily.

Firefly Is Ceasing Jet Operations At Subang Airport Starting 19 August

FireFly, the low-cost carrier of the Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), announced that it will cease jet operations to and from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport, also referred to as Subang Airport, from 19 August this year. The move makes it the second low-cost carrier, after AirAsia, to do so.

Moving forward, MAG said that all FireFly jet services will be shifted to KLIA1, where it believes that it can scale the operations more efficiently, as well as improve passenger connectivity. Its turboprop services, however, will remain in operation at Subang Airport.

The suspension of its jet services comes one year after it launched direct flights from Penang, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, and Singapore. In the mean time, MAG says that affected passengers flying out after 19 August will be contacted directly to be given the options of a refund, rebooking under Malaysia Airlines (MAS), or continuing with their existing ticket via departure from KLIA1.

One reason why FireFly is shifting its jet operations to KLIA1 is reportedly financial. Multiple sources indicate that the carrier has been haemorrhaging money daily for years. In its financial year 2023, it recorded a loss of RM19.17 million, and in 2022, the loss was greater at RM32.15 million. This was all despite a year-on-year increase in revenue, to RM669.7 million.

As pointed out by The Edge, contributing factors to FireFly’s loss was due to the structural limitations of Subang Airport. Compared to KLIA1, it is restricted to just one jet movement per hour, in order to prevent congestion with terminal arrivals and departures. It is also subject to curfew between 6AM and 10PM, as it is in close proximity to residential areas.

Why young parents nowadays especially among Gen Y and Gen Z are so irresponsible towards their toddlers?

I've went to shopping mall and other public places recently and saw some disturbing trends among these generations.

You put your toddler in the baby stroller. Why do you need to give them a phone when you walk in public area?

Toys are exist.
You can always let the toddler observe, and enjoy looking the public area.
You can always let them enjoy being bored inside the baby stroller. There's nothing wrong of letting your kids do nothing.

That what your parents are doing to raise you up.

But no, you let them overstimulate their brain looking at the phone. Another reason is you don't want to hear any crying from your own toddler

Same goes to in a restaurant. No one wants to hear you playing video of Peppa pig, Baby shark or any animation videos while others want to enjoy their meal.
Young parents nowadays seriously have zero common sense.

What's the point of having kids if you can't handle them when you're in public spaces. Everything just let the phone, tablet to settle the issues. No wonder young kids brain are so fried with constant overstimulation.
