[WTA] Computer Auto Shut-Off

Guys,

2 years ago i faced similar problem with my computer n i change my PSU n the problem solved (thanks to fellow members of LYN). The previous problem was the computer auto shut-off, but still got lights on the motherboard.

2 years later today i faces similar problem, the computer auto shut-off in 10-20 minutes after i ON the computer, and when i restart similar problem comes again. Unlike my last problem, there is not power going to the motherboard and i had to wait for a couple of minutes to restart due to no power to motherboard.

i suspected the PSU fails again (FSP Saga II 500W - purchased Jan 2011).

if so, what is the normal life span for a standard PSU like FSP Saga II 500W.

thanks in advance.

i'm thinking of getting a new motherboard since the old one started to give me problem (no sound n one PCIe "kong" already). i been reading around n looking for information n keep bumping into AM2, AM2+ and AM3

since my current computer is as per below, i guess mine is AM2 socket
- Mobo : Asus M2A-VM
- CPU : AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual 5200+
- RAM : Corsair PC800 DDR2 2x1GB

what is the best motherboard for me to purchase without upgrading my CPU n RAM (i can just add extra DDR2 RAM here) ?

it there a motherboard that support AM2/AM2+/AM3 all together ? (may want to upgrade my CPU later)

thanks.

Lately there is major problem with my PC and i don't know what's wrong with it.

Whenever i start my PC, the PC will stop automatically n sometimes i manage to use it for a couple of mins and the PC stop automatically.

It' like no power supply but the LED on the motherboard shows there is power supply and even the monitor shows power supply (my monitor uses the power supply from CPU).

Any ideas guys ? Is there something wrong with my PSU or Motherboard or other component.

Thanks in advance.

By the way my PC is 2 years old.
