Wasted a lot of time and money on cheap bands and screen protectors that is not satisfying… finally decided to buy more expensive genuine branded accessories and was really happy with the quality n slightly sense of security…

Bought this whopping rm99 UAG casing and IMO its totally worth it. Had a cheap rm13 SP on it but was causing issues with rotating the crown and ended up removing the SP

Macbook Pro USB port not working

hello...

i have a mbp and currently, 2 usb ports are not funtioning. one of them is completely dead. the other can read from thumb drive but cannot read from external hdd

tried the nvram resetting, smc resetting, doesnt help solve my issue.

was wondering is anyone here knows if its possible to repair the usb ports without replacing the whole logic board? and an estimate cost to repair

iPad warranty

Hi all,

If let's say my iPad still under warranty for the next 10 months, and suddenly die on the 7th month.

Send to apple, will they rma me an iPad 2 by then? Will the warranty period stated by entering serial prove iTunes activation date as well as purchase and legitimacy of the iPad?

Heard apple warranty is one to one exchange rma.

So if our ipad1 die 7 months later ( must be still under warrantybperiod), I might get to claim an iPad 2 same specs?

Just asking cos my 5 yr warranty hdd got upgraded to current specs.. Higher capacity lol...

Would like to ask if anyone here surrently using their iPad with gps profs like tomtom or Papago? I read from the web that this can be done, some say cannot... Got problem detecting iPad gps chip.. Yada yada yada.....

Currently i don't have tomtom or Papago for iPad. Is it worth trying ? Very keen on having a 9.7 inch gps iPad so that navigation is very very easy to c while driving..

recently i have been exposed to Cloud computing and i find it interesting concept. It allow SAAS, PAAS as well as IAAS. I would like to know more and hopefully some members here can share their insight and knowledge on could computing.

Is there currently any malaysian cloud in operations?

if this is possible or available, what would it take to be a SAAS developer?

My company has asked me to look in to getting quotations for HP Business desktops and i am searching around for the pricing. apart from the computer stores in lowyat and digitalmall, is there distributor or HP partners selling desktops? i tried going into HP partners/ reseller sites.. but hundreds listings came out.

can anyone recommend some trust worthy dont rip me HP desktop resellers?

Taipei DSLR lenses and Accs

i am travelling to taipei next month and was thinking of getting some lenses and DSLR accs in the famouse Photography street in taipei...

right now i am surveying prices.. any members here been there to compare prices? is it cheaper there? any recommendations?

i m thinking of getting 12-24.. either here b4 i depart.. or straigt away go get there upon landing.. kekekek need UWA for travel and landscape..

SIGMA 10-20 F3.5 OR TOKINA 11-16 F2.8?

Hi all

i am interested in getting a wide angle lens (ie tokina 11-66 f2.8 or Sigma 10-20 F3.5)
and have been searching for info in various threads and forums but still can't seem to help me decide which is better for overall usage.

let me share my current gear.

1. Nikon D80+grip
2. SB600
3. Sigma 24-70 F2.8

would like to ask advise from photogs who ACTUALLY own 11-16 or 10-20 on the usage frequency. I am thinking of shooting some landscapes and indoor. in terms of versatile, i think 10-20 would better compliment my current lense but the thought of F2.8 on the 11-16
is making me nuts.

my questions (hopefully can guide me)

1. How often to shoot at F2.8 for indoors? because of ultra wide, would it still cause the person in focus standing in front sharp and the person
just right behind a little soft or blur?

2. would the 2.8 really help? would using sigma at 3.5 and bumping up iso and lower shutter compensate the ambient?

3. i am thinking of mostly indoor use with flash for people photography.. u know.. sometimes space limittions disables you to shoot the whole group
(say 6 people around dining table in a restaurant..)

i read many threads on these both lenses and felt that i am still not being able to decide.

appreciate for your assistance.

i am having 2gb ram in my desktop with no video cards..

i would like to know if whether launching Yahoo messenger and windows live messenger simultaneously would take up alot of ram memory..

also... would there be any conflicts? so far, i on my simultaneously.. sometimes my messengers will online, offline, online offline at maybe 15 mins intervals...

any recommendations?

hi all,,

would like to check a 2 things from you guys... please contribute yah...

i have 2 flash heads...

1x SB600
1x Nissin i622

My Issues

1. when Camera Mounted with SB600, and when u zoom the lens in and out, the SB600 flash head will also follow zoom.. or at least that's what it made me think cos of the flash zoom head noise... SB600 zoom range is 24-85mm and it displays and moves accordingly with i zoom in out.. (i am using sigma 18-50 f2.8)

when camera is mounted with Nissin i622... zoomin the lens in and out but the nissin flash head does not zoom....

is that normal with nissin flash heads? my lens and auto focus working fine.. just that pics taken using the i622 abit darker compared to sb600.. tested with nissing i622, have to bump flash exp +1.0 to get similiar results..

is this normal for nissin?

2. in dark environment, with mounted with sb600, AF-assist light will emit red light to assist the cam to focus..

when i mount the i622, the len's AF Assist lights does not emit any red lights.. causing my lens to hunt back and fourth.. i checked the forums (photokaki, lowyat.net, photomalaysia) and apparently a few of us are suffering the similiar situation...

Some AF-assist light works once in a while but my nissin i622 DOES not emit any AF-assist light at all..

something is wrong right?

i contacted the reputable seller ( i bought brand new) and he says we'll meet up to check.. i just wanna get inputs before i worngly condem the flash head..

can anyone share/shed some light ?

I would like to offer all members here an opportunity to have your personal potraits captured for NO CHAGRE. Serious... NO MONEY involved. It's a "You Pose, I shot" and you will be given back a copy of the pictures.

My T&C are very simple
1. I am only offering 10(ten) sessions for free, open to both male and female, any race, age above 18years old.
2. Outdoor or Indoor / Day or night is fine with me.. but let's take our safety into upmost priority yah...
3. I will not be available on all dates.. so need to do calander booking.
4. You may use your pictures however you want, I will reserve a few for my potrait shots in my flickr for marketing lah...
5. You bear your own costume and MUA should you choose to engage one, transport to meet up...etc.. remember... no exchange of money.. hehehehe
6. i will mostly be accompanied by another photog (for our safety mah) and for ladies, you can bring along a friend/boyfriend (just dont bring the whole kampung.)
7. This is a personal potrait shot... does not cover pre-wedding or actual day wedding shots.
8 Each session is maximum 5 hours... (i will get tired shooting and u will get tired posing for my camera)

if you choose to have "personal private hots", it will remain private between u and me. i will consult u prior to posting in my flickr.
