Parents who expect alot

I live away from my parents' home and only come home during the weekend together with my wife. I have alot of work pressure during the weekdays. and thus expect to enjoy my weekends as much as possible. the problem is when i get home on the weekends, my parents (who live, eat, enjoyed better quality of lives in their daily life) will interrogate me - like how much i am earning and give indirect hint on wanting me to give them more allowance. There are times when i paid them the allowance, and they forget it - and expect me to give them again. It is not that they need the money. But, what really make me HATE them is they expect me to give them more money, on the flip side - the money is given to my spoilt brat brother - who is currently so called studying, but having all the fun in life.

What agitate me more is - my dad saying "as a son, you should buy for us/ur mum/me...." - darn, am i the only son? they have other children to. why should i carry tis burden when i want to set up my own family son. At times, they relentless demand - really make me unease and want to give up going home over the weekend - which if i do, my mum will call up and talk all type of nonsense......

what do you do when your parents expect alot from you financially?

Preliminary interview with job hunter

I received a call yday from a job hunter, who identified my profile from linked. During the call, I was told about the position and the company that is hiring, and she mentioned that I was identified for my skills and experience. Thereafter, she asked me to send her an updated resume, which I did today. Hours later, she called and asked me to come over her office for preliminary interview with them - the job hunter, and not the company itself. I was thinking if I should go for the preliminary interview given that I am not sure if I want to take the job. I thought I could take the interview (with the company) as an experience; now that it is with the job hunter, I feel abit of reluctance.

If you were me, would you go for the preliminary interview?

Parents who don't care about finances

Your parents did raise you up till uni years. However, they are bad in their finances; they owe financial institutions money till being black listed, even if they had money, they don't intend to repay back; they continue to spend unnecessarily and don't even plan to save for their retirement. Are these parents worth helping?

Also, given that they are being blacklisted and they want to use your name, you don't allow so because you have your plans; do u think they have the right to get mad at you?

Given that they are your parents, should one tolerate with their bad financial habits?

Sharing payments with siblings

just wonder how u guys actually share payments with your siblings, as you and your sibling start to work? for instance, when you go out for meals, sometimes parents do still pay for the meal. but at times, it can be good to offer to pay for the meals. would you get the bill one at a time (meaning your siblings will pay the next bill) or share with your siblings? what if your siblings keep giving excuse to that s/he has to money and can't offer to pay (everytime when it is her turn)?

Boss doing things at last minute

I always submit my work on time; but my boss chooses to review those submitted later. It happened for months/ year....and i am getting fed up. She reviews it at the last minute and when amendments needed, it just stress me up - if she has checked it earlier and let me know earlier, at least i have more time to get it rectified. She is giving me unnecessary stress. How should I deal with this boss?

Colleague takes credit of your work

This is the second time happening to me. We are asked to work in a team.

First time, I arranged everything, delegated some work between both of us and told her that I will summarize the end work. When I came back from lunch, she told me that she can do everything and she asked me no need to do anything further. She gets all the credit although I did help out in giving her the contacts and structuring the initial framework.

Second time, boss asked to help up another colleague who is absent. We both set at the desk, computing and extracting figures for more than one hour (I did most of it because I was more familiar with the system). After done, I told the boss it is done and put it into the sharing folder. Next day I came in late because I have a morning appointment, then she made some changes to the figures and from then on, all the credit goes to her.

wow, that is call team work? I am getting more "careful" with this colleague.

Did I do anything "wrong" here?

Inconsistent boss

Preliminary, the boss asked me to do a task using method A, which she stated in her email. Then, after it is done and set for her to review, she says I shouldn't use method A but method B instead (sent through email too). Her response was rather sarcastic and was like pulling me down.

This is not the first time. Therefore, I want to clarify with her. I emailed her back and copied the first email of her asking me to use method A which contradicts what she said in the second email. I put there: However, I also think that method B could be better.

Not sure if she was unsatisfied or what, she replied my email (which was not an usual thing because she likes to drag replying my emails) indirectly saying that I should use my common sense and "minor" things can be tweaked from time to time. Although method A and B are completely, 100% opposite, she says it is "minor"?

I can't argue any further as I don't want to make the relationship worse. So, just thanked her for "her advice".

Did I do the right thing? Although I enjoy my work, I am so sick of the boss.

And, some of these friends work in the same organization.

And, even if they haven't return back the money they owe me few months back, they still ask me to borrow. Amount is not big - about RM 10-20 each time, and the reason being, they have no change. And, I have no change, so got to aportion some of my RM 50.

How do you ask your friends to return money back to you?

Also, how to say "no" when they want to borrow from me again?
