I wish to ask around if there's any users of ATI's latest HD 5000 series GC whether this new GC really bitstream HD codecs or just able to convert the HD codecs to LPCM -> transmit to AV Receiver.

Pls Help : Only cursor blinking when laptop starts

I'm having a serious problem with my Lenovo laptop
When i start my laptop, only the cursor blinking in a black-out screen (after the Lenovo logo with F2 and F12 screen)
Can't even start with a new windows installation disc.
Still can enter bios and can detect both hard-drive and dvd-drive ...
Any suggestions pls ?

Hi all sifu(s) around.
Can anybody please guide which graphic card i should use to deliver adequate signal and perform well with my 42" Panasonic Full HD LCD TV (i'm using it as my extended monitor for gaming and HTPC) while for general use i use a Viewsonic 17" LCD monitor.
Currently i'm using Gigabyte 9500GT OC (Zalman Fan) because it doesn't require additional PCI-E power to energize. I think my Silverstone Strider 500W isn't capable for the supply. Below signature shows the other parts & specs.

Mobo & Sound Card Queries

Hi, is there any sifu(s) can help guide me with the following questions ?

1) Which mobo got 2 PCI-E slots for AMD proc ? And average how much ?
2) Which mobo got on-board audio chipset that supports DTS / Dolby decoding ? Average price range ?
3) Which soundcard supports DTS / Dolby decoding ? And price range ?

Why the above questions ... I've just set up a HTPC using
AMD Athlon X2 7750 Blk Edition on Asus M3A78-EM (ATI Radeon HD3200 + Realtek ACL1200)
but now i found out that the on-board Realtek ACL1200 doesn't decode DTS / Dolby signal to my AV Receiver via Toslink.
My Marantz AV Receiver shows that it is receiving PCM signal ... is this ok ?
Or should i upgrade as per the above queries ?

To all the sifus around.
Desperate need your help to solve the following problem.
I'm using Asus M3A78-Pro with built-in ATi HD3200 -> use HDMI cable -> connect to my Samsung LCD TV (LAS32S81) = no picture
Previously used at my friend's home he connected it via HDMI cable to his Sony W series 32" Full HD LCD and it works.
Then i connect old fashion way (VGA cable), it works ... any idea why ?
PLEASE HELP !

I'm trying to upgrade my PC for HTPC and slight gaming use. (no money buy new set & sayang to dumb this set)
Can somebody pls advice which parts i should buy to upgrade ?
Requirement : HDMI output and Digital sound (coaxial / optical) output ...
