personal review - if you need something e-ink that can handle PDF, and has some digital paper writing abilities then this is a good compromise. if you have more money, get something dedicated for your main purpose.

any cardio enthusiast here care to share your opinion regarding rowing for cardio? running isnt for me, my knees hurt enough from squatting
i'm also doing swimming but i cant progress as well as i am hoping to, wanted to try doing something cardio at home to see how much time i can save
a shop nearby is selling something like this for 2100. i have no clue how to shop for rowing machines, anyone care to point what do i need to look at when comparing them?

I'm by no means a tech literate person, but I am aware about the basics do's and don'ts in order to maintain data safety.

My 4tb WD purple HD (supposedly good for its longevity) just died on me, mid migration. it started to make some grinding noise which may have been going on for a few days, i might not notice it since it's inside the rig and the noise gets obscured but other things in it but this is by no means something that has been going on for more than a few days. i was alerted when the boot times became longer by about 30-60s and just now suddenly mid migration the drive died completely. right now if i boot the system with it attached the boot is delayed by about a minute and the drive cant be detected. previously i had a 2tb hard drive failed but the consequence were very different (10 min boot times, drive appears in my computer but inaccessible), is there a way to still save it?

and now that i'm on edge, i decided to back up my stuffs on another one of my HD, it's not making any noise nor is the boot time affected with it attached but it keeps disconnecting during transfer especially when the transfer speed is fast. is this a sign of failing too?

this cant be coincidental. its 3 hard disks with varying age (all less than 5, purple is less than 4) is there something wrong with how i use them? are there any ways to prevent this from ever happening again (bar SSD), is it just about making consistent backups? im really livid right now, this is 3 hard disks failing in the span of a year, and it has happened to me 5 times total.

Hello, asking on behalf of my brother. He hasnt renewed his license in 2 years 11 months, and he say this is because a JPJ officer told him that he can do that for a max of 3 years before the CDL is revoked. On checking the JPJ portal, he has 2 compounds and his license was listed in the blacklist. Question:

1) Why/ what are the reasons and implications of the blacklist
2) Can I as a relative go to JPJ and pay on his behalf?
3) What's the maximum compound for his offence? (both are listed as inability to produce license)
4) He also has 1 pdrm compound, same offence. does he need to settle this before renewing his license?

My storage devices became retardedly slow

as per title, the problem occurred suddenly. about a week ago everything began to slow down, and then I took a week's leave and came back to find the problem worsened tenfold. the computer was shut down throughout that week.

It began as prolonged boot time from <30s to more than a minute and now at least 5 minutes. explorer crashes constantly, and I cant even access one of my hard disk. I dont know how else to describe the problems, so here are some pictures to put things into perspective.

From the picture you can see how severe it is. speccy and defraggler cant even see the specs, my antivirus program cant even scan 1 file, and just trying to change download path causes my browser to crash. anything not on the SSD wont even open. the same thing is true for external HDD, it takes a good 15 minutes before i can even open them. transferring file is nigh impossible.

Can not access certain websites

As per topic, I could not open some websites (uniqlo, steam, etc) on my main desktop. On phones and my family's other computers, the issue is non existent.

I tried some common solution on the net (google public dns, /flushdns) but to no avail.

I am currently using unifi. Can anyone help?

Need help with 4k display

Hi, im currently using UP2414Q with a provided DP 1.2 to mini DP. Previously i used a laptop which is attached with the mini DP end and the display ran just fine. recently i bought a desktop with GTX 970 which does not have a mini DP so i had to use the dp1.2 end and it wont detect (display port not detected).

anyone else with a 4k display mind sharing? do i need a dp1.2 to dp1.2 or is the problem somewhere else?

so i was looking into long term storage options, the basics threw me quite off balance. before i though just buy the cheapest damned option and pray it doesnt rot, but so many factors other than luck play the role.

i was told that there is no real advantage getting external vs internal, but this seems wrong to me. wouldnt the external last longer since you can switch them on/off? would getting one of those external racks to make the internal hdd more accessible a good idea?

also, what is the best brand/sub brand option to store your files? there is stark difference between say, wd green and red/black but theyre all 7200rpm drives. id like to save money whenever i could but if there are serious issues/technicalities to consider i dont mind spending more dough.

As per topic. My budget is flexible, but I aim to save as much as I should.

LR does not show much added benefit i5 v i7, not sure about PS, that is my issue. I'm just starting with PS, should i stick to i5? I dont know how to OC.

Regarding the case, it should have at least 3 usb dock, at least 1 USB 3.0. I think it's ok to spend a bit on casing.

I dont game, but might in the future. So its okay to invest a bit more than necessary on PSU.

RAM, i guess 8gb would suffice, would i need more in the future?

HDD, 2TB i guess. Already have SSD.

Hi, I am interested in knowing is there a significant boost in this particular application with desktop processors. I used ark to compare various processors but my comprehension is a letdown. Lightroom is not a common benchmark software which adds up to the problem.

Specifically, I want to know is there a significant gain going from my current 3610QM to any of the new Haswell chips (i3/i5/i7/or perhaps the cheaper Xeon)

My current mobile system has no bottleneck in terms of RAM and storage (SSD), but Lightroom lags quite a lot. I usually process 18MP pictures.

Anwar warms up towards BN

Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim signalled his readiness to hold unity talks between Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan Nasional when he said today that the opposition will accept the results of the 13th general election.

Anwar, in his Merdeka Day speech, also pushed for a quick meeting between both parties to solve various issues plaguing the country.

"The meeting between both sides must be held immediately to save Malaysia, especially in light of the country's 56th birthday tomorrow," he said.

The Prime Minister's office has so far brushed aside talk of a unity government, saying there will be no discussions on that subject until the opposition stops challenging the results of the general election which was held in May.

Anwar said although Pakatan Rakyat won the popular vote, it is ready to overlook the errors and mistakes of the Election Commission.

He added that the topics to be covered in any discussion must include racial and religious issues that had caused some tension recently.

Other pressing issues include the slowing down of the nation's economy and the rising crime rate, which was worrying the public both in the urban and rural areas.

"Discussions should also touch on the administrative aspect of the government to curb corruption and lack of transparency in the issuance of tenders," Anwar said.

The opposition leader wants Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to be open to discussions because there are many policies and programmes which need more attention.

"Pakatan Rakyat's willingness to invite Barisan Nasional to the negotiation table isn't just about forming a unified government but also an act commonly adopted by democratic governments," he said.

Speaking of the recent Fitch ratings downgrade for Malaysia, Anwar said the government could save about RM20 billion annually if it managed the country's economy better.

"In order to achieve this objective, it is imperative that Barisan Nasional reduce the country's fiscal deficit and tackle the issue of corruption on the issuance of tenders.

"The government should also stop inciting the public by using mainstream media organisations and non-governmental organisations as propaganda tools.

"As we celebrate the nation's 56th birthday, our communities should be educated to be more mature instead of being exposed to political agendas which can tear a country apart." – August 30, 2013.

Assad Regime confirmed for using chem
