Hi everyone!

I recently found out about ViewQwest, a ISP from Singapore that is providing 1Gbps speeds : http://viewqwest.com.my/internet/features

I am tempted to sign up for it, as the place I am staying in now does not seem to have a lot of coverage by ISPs (Tropicana Gardens).

Before I jump into anything though, does anyone here have any experience with ViewQwest? Is it good/bad in terms of speed, service, network stability, etc?

I can't seem to find much customer feedback or reviews on them so far

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, if not, just tell me, alright?

I'm thinking of getting a new machine for gaming purposes. Right now I'm using my laptop, but it can't really support newer games like Borderlands 2 or GW2 smoothly (Borderlands 2 gets around 20 frames per second).

What I want to ask is, should I get a laptop, or a desktop? Budget around 2.5-3k. I've been thinking about this for quite a while, and still unable to make a concrete decision about it.

Please tell me your opinions guys.

Anyone experiencing problem with unifi connection?

Hi. These few days, I've been experiencing some hiccups in the Internet connection. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow. Kind of erratic. Started around Sunday night I think. I asked one of my housemates, he said same thing happening to him. He heard that even some people at Wangsa Maju also slow.

Anyone heard of this?

Toe/toenail injury

Hi everyone.

I recently suffered a rather bad fall. As a result, the toenail for my big toe had to be removed entirely.

However, what I'm more worried about is about my second toe (the toe next to the big toe). As a result of the fall, the toenail now is yellowish-grey in color, the toe is red, swollen and throbs with pain, and the flesh area that connects the nail and the toe is white in color. For a more...precise observation, I have included a photo (for those who don't mind looking at photos of injuries) : http://oi42.tinypic.com/10pxeme.jpg

I went to my local health center to change the dressing on my big toe. I went there on 2 different occasions, and 2 different people tended to me. Both of them have different viewpoints as to the injury on my second toe. One of them keeps asking me to remove this toenail as well, and keeps saying that it's developing pus; while the other says that it's alright even if I don't want to remove the toenail, and that it'll grow a new one and recover by itself, given time.

So, does anyone have any advice, recommended course of action, etc? I'm quite worried about this...

*Update : Recently, the toe doesn't throb with pain anymore. Sure, it hurts when I move around, but if I'm still, it doesn't hurt. Before this, it hurts even if I don't move it.

Eczema treatment

Hi all. A close friend of mine is suffering from eczema. She does not like to use the steroid-based creams due to the side-effects that come with prolonged usages. Currently she is keeping watch on what she eats and using some other cream like aloe vera cream. Is there any good methods to treat or at least suppress eczema?

I read online that some cream called TriCeram is good for eczema, but is it available in Malaysia?

Gaming Desktop

Hi all sifus,

I've been considering getting a proper gaming desktop since my laptop can't really handle the current released games (and I don't really feel it's worth it to get a laptop for gaming purposes. Will cost me a fortune). Everything is up for suggestion, no preferred brands or anything.

My budget is around RM2.5k tops, it'll be better if it's lower though XD

My target would be a desktop that can play current-gen games (like Battlefield 3) on 'High' or possibly even 'Ultra' (although I know I'm getting a bit greedy here) settings, and would last me for at least 2 years.

Hope to hear everyone's suggestions soon~!

Thanks!
Laptop RAM problem?

Hey everyone. I'm using a dell inspiron 1464 with windows 7. Recently, I've been having this problem : Sometimes, after a bout of gaming, or even after surfing net for a while, the RAM usage (which I can see using rainmeter) doesn't drop. Normally when idle it's 50 something percent. After gaming or something when i quit the game it goes until 70+. And it stays there. For some reason, it doesn't drop. The same happens if I leave it on the whole night. But it happens even if I don't leave it on the whole night. The problem can only be solved by restarting. But then I'll have to restart a whole lot of times. Please help! I need to know what is wrong, what could be causing this problem and how to solve it! It's been causing my laptop to freeze and crash randomly!!

recommended laptop cooler?

Hey everyone. I'm using a dell inspiron 1464, and it gets hot really fast. Recently, when I was surfing the net, I opened up quite a lot of tabs on google chrome, and noticed the temperature of my laptop rose to 70C! When gaming it reaches 68C.

I already have a cooler, but it's not exactly working...coz it's a model that sucks the air out of the bottom of the laptop. Due to my ignorance before buying the cooler, I didn't realize that my laptop is designed so that the vents at bottom of the laptop sucks air into the laptop and blows out hot air at the side of the laptop. So currently, I'm worried that my cooler will actually clash with the natural airflow of my laptop, and end up making it even hotter.

So I would like to ask everyone out there if they have any suggestions of nice laptop coolers that blows air. All help is appreciated~

help with laptop...100% cpu usage!

I got my laptop from my brother. It worked fine. The only thing was the fan was a bit faulty but other than that, it worked perfectly fine. Oh, and it's 3+ years old, by the way. It's a Dell Inspiron I6400, with 1gb ram. However, starting late last year, my computer started to slow down and eventually freeze whenever i played games. Now, this is a laptop that can play games like Quake 4 with no problems in the past. I couldn't find the cause of this. But over time, the problem persisted, and became worse. Recently, I can't even play those small hidden object games. Nowadays, even surfing net makes it slow down. And every time it slows down, I minimize the screen (if i'm surfing net) or I open the task manager (if gaming) and I see that cpu usage is at 100%. Does anyone have a solution for this? Please help...
