Minor Accident - 3rd party asking for money

Hi all sifus,

My little sis got into an minor accident last weekend, and its her fault. The damage to the 3rd party car was just bumper scratch and rims scratch (although quite deep). Regardless, reports have been made and other party is claiming my sisters insurance.

Anyways, today the third party is asking for money for "trauma" and also RM30 to pay for the 'salinan report'. he has apparently caught a fever and doesn't want to make this a big case.

Can my sis just ignore these messages / calls, now that everything is being taken care of insurance? Any consequences of not entertaining all of these requests? Im not sure myself how to advice her on this issue. Thanks all.

Fellow K friends, here for small rant...

My luck damn suei todei. On the way to work approx. 9am i was "scraped / knocked" by a moto BMN9287. I just merged into my right lane (about 90% completed) and one moto came from the back rode straight into my left rear bumper... The fella didn't stop straight away cabut, i tried to chase a little bit, but obviously traffic jam :/ Made a pulis report after... Damn sad liao, my whole day ruined. Spend 2 hour at balai, then go to work late, so now will be finishing late... Cilake... Some more SC quoted RM964 for damages.

i had the amazing honour of receiving a JPJ Angpow on CNY. My question is, the letter (highlighted in red) says that I am ordered to appear in person or by counsel before the court of a Magistrate . Do i really need to do this if i pay up before that date? Offense was driving @127kmh in a 90kmh zone. ZZZZZZZZ

Also in true Malaysian fashion, is there any avenue for discounts to pay this JPJ summon?

Hi ladies and gentlemen,

Previously ran an event company back in the UK. Now I am back in Malaysia and have a business to look after, so I have almost RM50k worth of DJ equipment just lying around at my place.

So, what I’m looking for is a DJ to do a joint venture with, on a revenue share model basis. Basically with all these equipment we can play in clubs, outdoor events, etc. As I will be providing all the assets, I just need a passionate DJ who is willing to run the business with me.

If the business takes off, I wouldn’t mind pumping in more cash to buy more assets, rent a club (if really successful la), marketing etc etc. At this point, since it’s going to be a JV I’m open to ideas, otherwise I don’t mind replicating the same business model I used in the UK. I'm planning to get a single digit number plate (number 8). My question is, more or less how much will the plate cost (more or less enough la), and will there be any difference in the price of the plate in different states?

I have very little knowledge in the tender-ing process, im not sure if its a bid, or a blind payment or whatever it is.

If yes, do i have to go to that particular state to get the plate? Can someone please advise? Thank you loads!

I'm planning to purchase a single storey terrace house, and the owner has done renovations on it quite extensively. I am quite worried that these renovations done are properly done, and that the foundation of the house maybe affected.

How do i verify the condition and quality of these renovations and the house itself? Would you recommend me going to contractor, or are there any professionals doing this? If so, how much would it cost more or less? Thank you!

Dear Sifus, I have a quick question:

I am deciding between 2 used cars for purchase. 1 is a 2009 model and the other is a 2011 model. For the 2009, the maximum tenure for loan is 7 years, so my question is, what is the max tenure for a loan a 2011 used car? Loan would be 60%, and I'm opting for a longer tenure mainly for increased cash flow in business; hence I'm not interested in taking a short tenure loan. Thank you.

Any advantages or disadvantages or both scenarios? Anyone has experience going through the process yourself?
Ratio is 20% down payment and 80% loan.
