Just switched over to Maxis from Unifi not long ago.

previously I was able to connect to FTP without any issue when on Unifi
now using Maxis, i can never connect to my FTP servers . keep getting timed out.

anyone else have similar issue ?

I saw on http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-283...axis-fiber.html that FTP access is disabled , Is it true ?

Landlord gave last minute notice to move out

Hi guys,

Seriously need advice from those who had similar experience before.
I've just received a notice from my house leader today (26 Jan 2016) that the landlord has sold the house and being unreasonable, requesting us to move before end of this month. Just less than 5 days away.

We have a 2 + 1 deposit with the landlord, which i pretty much doubt that he's gonna return it.
He also threatened to lock up the unit.

What I can do as a tenant? I don't have any tenancy agreement nor any receipt stating any deposit given.

Having less than 5 days to find a new place is a pain in the ass now since I couldn't afford the deposit for new place cos mine is still stuck with landlord.
Can we make a police report or something?

Update:

- as per "owner" , unit sold in April 2015. Nothing was conveyed to us from the point of selling the place until yesterday..

- "owner" mentioned to old "tenant" that house was in process of selling, ask to continue staying.

- during that time, tenant asked if they should move out, owner said, if move out MUST give 2 mths notice, IF HE ask us to move out, then he need to give 2 months notice. (now this isn't the case since he gave us less than 2 months.)

- as of yesterday, able to nego to stay on till 26 Feb, which is not even 1 month

- "owner" holding 2.5x deposit, we requested to deduct 1 mth deposit as rental since he was the one asked us to move. He refused and ask us to pay rental for February even tho there's 29 days in that month but we are only allowed to be here until 26th Feb.

- "owner" said he will hold deposit until we move out and after he and the new owner checked the unit for damaged to make sure it's tenant-able. this is basically ridiculous since there's so many tenant come and go over the years. definitely will have normal wear and tear.

- based on the previous "tenant", they are not so fond of the "owner" , very rude and arrogant indian man. every request to fix something that is not working in the house was rejected. even i had to fix my own fuse in order for the existing water heater to work, and mind you... water pipes are stuck... low pressure.. just to fill a jug of water through the filter, you need to wait a few hours.

- with all these... i doubt that the owner will ever refund any part of the deposit.

If accidently knocked someone but not my fault

Hi guys,

Just wanna get your opinion here. don't know where else to ask.

Earlier in the evening, when i was driving out of my house area, driving at less than 20kph uphill, in fact it was only 10-15kph (i know cos i have the habit on looking on my dashboard once in a while).

some kid aged 3-4 years old, ran out from nowhere (noticed there's a Kenari blocked the sight where she ran out from), the kid rammed into the back of my car on the left side. I only knew there was a kid when I heard a loud thud and saw her on my side mirror. I swerved to the right and braked .

The moment I got down, she was crying on the ground. The mother and grandma was still in the house when it happened. I saw on her leg, it's not bleeding, no tyre track on her leg or sign that i ran over her leg, only a bit scratches and a lil swollen, which possibility she sprained her leg when she fell.

She was lucky that I did not knocked her head on, else it would be more severe. She rammed into my car when my car's body was already half way passed the Kenari that blocked her when she was running out. I offered to send them to hospital. In the car, the mother told her husband that I "knocked" her daughter and broke her leg. I was like WTF? since when? The girl run and rammed into my car for god sake! i stayed calm at that moment.

At the hospital, the girl had a preliminary check. the officer said it looks like normal bruises but will need check further by the doc and maybe need to xray. I waited with them for a while but I had to go cos I need to fetch my mom and aunt to church first. I told the girl's mom that I have to leave and I gave her my number. I asked if they have transport to go back or not, she said yes. Then I told her, if later don't have transport or if got anything, can just give me a call.

After sending my mom and aunt to church, I went back to the hospital to see if they're around but they left. So I went back home, and I saw their car on the way back. Their house is just 10-20 metres from mine. I walked over and spoke to the father and apologized to them if I've caused hurt to their daughter.

The husband acknowledged that it WASN'T actually my fault that she ran out and rammed into my car and got hurt. He told me it's fractured. I told him, i did not ran over her leg cos I would know it if I did. When I got down the car and looked at her leg, there was NO tyre marks. He then changed his words. He said there was but just by the side of the leg. (Yeah rite!) In the conversation, he indirectly asked me, if I'm going to claim insurance and as a goodwill to help them a little. If not, maybe I can give them something. I went silence for a while.

In my head, I was thinking, are they trying to extort money from me ? it was an accident and it was the parents fault that caused me to hurt their child without intention. He said he's not gonna force me if i can't do anything but hope I can do something for them.

Sorry guys, if i'm making this TOO LONG to READ. In your opinion, am I liable to this? In case i don't give them any money and they make a police report against me. What should I do?

- This is not the first time the kids are running around on the road. My mom nearly knocked into the kid once when she ran out all the sudden. My mom even scolded her before and asked the mom/grandma to watch over their kid.
Most the time i noticed the family couldn't care less where the kids are running to. Their gates is always open.
It's an offense for parents to neglect kids and indirectly causing hurt due to their negligence .

- For a 3 year old kid, if I really knocked her heads on, she would be in a serious condition even tho my speed is slow (10-15kph).

- When I visited them, the kids right leg was bandaged. If her leg is broken or fractured, the hospital would definitely won't let her go back home. How can he claim it's broken when it's barely less than 2 hours and there's no Xray report yet.
