Is our LG 3d TV's Fully 3D certified?

LG’s Cinema 3D TVs get Full HD 3D certification
By Rasmus Larsen - 11 Jul 2011

LG introduced their Cinema 3D TVs earlier this year. The Cinema 3D TVs utilize the much cheaper polarized 3D glasses, making some doubt that Cinema 3D could be characterized as a true Full HD 3D standard. The German institute VDE has now issued an official Full HD 3D certification for LG’s Cinema 3D technology.

Cinema 3D gets Full HD 3D certification
LG Electronics has announced that its Cinema 3D TV (47LW570S-ZD) has been certified “Full HD in 3D-Mode” by VDE, one of the largest technical and scientific international associations in Europe.

- “This latest certification proves beyond all doubt that LG’s Cinema 3D TVs, which already provide the most comfortable 3D viewing experience, deliver 3D in Full HD,” said Havis Kwon, President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company.
”We’re pleased to say we can now put this debate to rest.”

LG’s Cinema 3D TVs are now officially labeled Full HD 3D

The dispute over LG’s TV had centered on whether the company’s Cinemas 3D TVs truly qualified as Full HD, defined as a horizontal image containing 1080 lines of definition. LG explains that their Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology, used on the Cinema 3D TVs, creates the perception of 3D depth by delivering two 540 line images, one for each eye, that are then combined via the glasses to create a unified 1080p image. The ruling from the VDE delivers the clearest affirmation to date of the validity of LG’s FPR technology.

LG also recently updated their firmware to support a new type of 3D display driving: surely one of the enablers of the new Full HD 3D certification. Learn more about that new 3D driving method in this article.

FlatpanelsHD tested LG’s Cinema 3D LW6500 range earlier this year and found that the 3D glasses puts less strain on the eyes, that crosstalk is almost non-existent and that issues such as batteries, synchronization loss, brightness los and flicker are all eliminated. Read the full Cinema 3D LW6500 review.

Source :http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1310384844

Ive Checked and out Firmware does not have this fix yet..
