TLDR
- Bought a Harman Kardon Mini Onyx speaker from shopee
- tested no problem, press received button, money sent to seller
- after my 1st charging , speaker dead. no light no function
- complain seller, they reply sipeh slow.. say impossible la, got follow instruction or not la..
- then after a week, he said can claim for me. so i sent back to him with my own expense..
- every week ask him status, he said manufacture no reply.. still in claming progress..
- last week ask him y so long, already more than 1 month, he say will check...
- this week, no reply at all..

I check with shopee, shopee say we must settle with seller by ourself..
now, how can I complain or file report on this guy??

warranty claiming so long? my item just used for days n its gone..
Harman Kardon product so weak??

Just now got 1 phone call from 0327312505 called me..
She said she is calling from hong leong bank..
then she read out my name in wrong pronunciation
then ask whether I wish to talk in english or mandrin..

then straightly I said english..

Then she stun for 1 second.. then said later english department pipu will call me...
then she hang up..

I go google this number and found out most ppl say they r scam...

phew... immediately i blocked that number....

English saved me from kena scam from scum...

The phallic architecture is called the Guangxi New Media Center, which finished in August after nearly two years of construction, according to Nanning Daily via Shanghaiist.

Floods in China Heavily Damage Crypto Mining

Recent floods in the Sichuan province of China have reportedly resulted in heavy damage to a major cryptocurrency mining operation in the area. The news was published on a local blockchain and crypto information platform Golden Finance (金色财经) June 30.

Ecns, the official English-language outlet of the China News Service (CNS), has reported that Sichuan and four other provinces in China experienced heavy rains on June 27 and 28, resulting in floods.

Golden Finance claims that a major cryptocurrency mining operation in Sichuan has been heavily affected, leading to a loss of “tens of thousands” of mining devices. The miners seem “almost impossible” to repair, according to the site.

As of press time it remains unclear what cryptocurrencies were being mined on the devices and how many of them precisely have been lost to the flood.

Mining is the computationally-intensive practice of using dedicated devices to process transactions and issue new coins in a cryptocurrency network. Bitcoin’s network alone is set to consume 0.5% of the world’s energy by the end of 2018, some reports claim.

A major share of Bitcoin mining takes place in China - as much as 70%, according to an earlier report by Cointelegraph. Specifically, the province of Sichuan has been called a “Bitcoin mining capital” due to the high concentration of mining operations in it, drawn in by the cold climate and cheap electricity.

Several news outlets, including Golden Finance, have associated the floods in Sichuan with a drop in Bitcoin network’s hashrate (total computational power). However, data from the Blockchain.com website shows that the hashrate has, in fact, increased from June 27 to 28, indicating that the floods’ effect was not significant enough to influence the entire network.

Last year, with more than $1 billion in debt to China, Sri Lanka handed over a port to companies owned by the Chinese government. Now Djibouti, home to the US military’s main base in Africa, looks about to cede control of another key port to a Beijing-linked company, and the US is not happy about it.

Beijing “encourages dependency using opaque contracts, predatory loan practices, and corrupt deals that mire nations in debt and undercut their sovereignty, denying them their long-term, self-sustaining growth,” said US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on March 6. “Chinese investment does have the potential to address Africa’s infrastructure gap, but its approach has led to mounting debt and few, if any, jobs in most countries,” he added.

Some call this “debt-trap diplomacy“: Offer the honey of cheap infrastructure loans, with the sting of default coming if smaller economies can’t generate enough free cash to pay their interest down. In Sri Lanka, acrimony remains around Hambatota and projects like “the world’s emptiest airport.”

China has characterized its “Belt and Road” initiative as a win-win for its aspirations to become a global trade leader and developing economies’ desire to fund transportation infrastructure. It has certainly filled the vacuum created by a shrinking American presence in global institutions. But as with Western internationalist projects, China is also facing accusations of imperialist behavior when its debt plans go wrong.

The Center for Global Development, a non-profit research organization, analyzed debt to China that will be incurred by nations participating in the current Belt and Road investment plan. Eight nations will find themselves vulnerable to above-average debt: Djibouti, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, the Maldives, Mongolia, Montenegro, Pakistan, and Tajikistan.

The researchers note that they did not estimate how this debt would effect growth, and that they needed to assemble much of their data from media reports. But they still say their evidence should raise concerns about economic distress stemming from debt that would undermine development efforts altogether. In the past, China has responded to the debtors inconsistently and hasn’t followed best practices adopted by international lenders working with poor countries. Sometimes, the debt has been forgiven; other times, disputed territory or control of infrastructure has been demanded as recompense.

They argue that China should work to bring other countries into their investment programs to spread debt more equally, and adopt stricter standards and more transparency about how sustainable its support for developing economies really is. Some countries aren’t waiting on China to take action: Pakistan and Nepal turned down Chinese infrastructure loans last year in favor of other sources of funding.
