ASUS TUF FX504 VS LENOVO LEGION Y520

Good day guys, I am planning to purchase a budget gaming laptop with the following specs (based in Penang):
1) At least GTX1050
2) At least 8 GB RAM
3) Price range: RM3,000 to RM 3,500.
4) i5
5) Coffee Lake, if possible, but not necessary

I have narrowed down my selection to Asus TUF FX504 or Lenovo Legion Y520. I have heard really good reviews about the Lenovo one (under the previous chip), but not much about the Asus one as it is still quite new. Could you guys please advise on which model would be more suitable for gaming (and more worth it) at its given price range?

My current model is an ASUS A43SV GT 540M. So, I tend to be leaning more towards ASUS.

Thanks to all the tech sifus here in advance for your advice.

Staying healthy with odd-hour jobs

Hi guys who work permanent odd-hour jobs (previously or currently; long term; chefs, nurses, hotel employees, etc.), do you guys have any advice on how to stay fit and healthy while working these hours (for example, 4 pm to 1 am and 6 pm to 6 am)? From odd sleeping hours to odd meal times, I find it very difficult to try to stay fit with this kind of lifestyle. My colleagues who are working similar hours are unable to help either as they are also struggling with this.

If quitting the job is not an option, what are some of the healthy habits that you could recommend based on your current lifestyle/personal experience that have proven effective so far?

Thanks.

Gaming laptop RM3000 to RM4000

Hi guys, could I request for your help in providing some gaming laptop suggestions within the RM3000 to RM4000 price range?

Here are my required specs:
1) Able to play most recent games (for example, Final Fantasy 15, Just Cause 3, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, etc.) at at least medium settings with stable fps.
2) Something with Nvidia GTX1050 or above
3) At least 8 gb RAM
4) Good cooling system
5) Long-lasting (my current laptop is an Asus A43SV that has lasted me six to seven years of very low-end gaming; am looking for a good replacement to play the latest games for at least another 5 years.)
6) Reliable brand and warranty support (preferably not Dell due to bad experience)

I came across Lenovo Legion Y520, which looked perfect at first but it had only 4 gb ram for that price range......

Thanks!

Working as a Local International School Teacher

Hi guys, I was wondering what is the average salary range of a LOCAL (not expat) international school teacher in Malaysia nowadays?

I heard that their starting pay is higher than the starting pay of govt school teachers. However, the other benefits (medical, increment, etc.) offered by international schools are extremely poor, especially if you are a local Malaysian and if the school belongs to a lower tier. Is it true?

Thanks in advance.

Samsung Galaxy J7 or Xiaomi Redmi Note 3?

Hey guys, could you help me to decide between the two?

Both have pretty good battery life (major importance) and are about the same price. I was leaning more towards Redmi Note 3 initially. Unfortunately, I hear that Redmi Note 3 has lots of problems, especially when receiving SMS. So, has this problem been fixed?

I am also considering Lenovo Vibe P1 due to the excellent battery life but the price is more ka-ching, ka-ching...

What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!

How to report unscrupulous hawkers?

Hi guys, I keep seeing people complain on social media that certain unscrupulous hawkers charge exorbitant prices for their food. However, most of them just adopt the attitude of "Once bitten, twice shy", warn others, and then forget about it. This is great but I feel there's more that can be done to address this issue. Some "experts" also keep saying "you should have checked the prices beforehand", "you should not pay lah" or "Aiya, tourist area ma." etc which are all true but it does nothing to resolve the issue as the unscrupulous hawkers will keep charging those insane prices to customers whom are unaware of such cases.

So, in an effort to raise awareness, my questions are:

1) Where and how does one report such hawkers to the relevant authorities? Is it only through KPDNKK? Other links or contact details are appreciated.
http://e-aduan.kpdnkk.gov.my/eaduan/aduanbaru.php?lang=1#

2) How about those cases where there are no real receipts involved such as zhu char (煮炒) places? Another example would be hawkers charging prices that belie their displayed price tags. How does one "record" such an incident for a report when there are no receipts given?

Please note that this post is meant to raise consumer awareness on the means to address such an issue and not meant to tarnish the image of specific hawkers. So, I would appreciate it if you guys could avoid posting specific locations that should be boycotted in this post.

Thanks for your co-operation!

Hi everyone. I am looking for a smartphone below RM1000 with:

1. Long battery life
2. Good camera quality=to capture the images of lecture slides (near and far)
3. Hopefully glitch-free features
4. Basically a great smartphone for university life

My friends told me to avoid Sony Xperia.

So, any recommendations?
Thank you.

Since I am clueless when it comes to the specs, I hope that you guys can help me decide.

I prefer a laptop :
1. Easy to carry around(Not too heavy)
2. Does not have any overheating problems or any other problems if I will use my laptop at least 8 hours per day.
3. Suitable for the latest games such as Crysis 2 and Mass Effect 2.
4. Long battery life and hopefully I won't have to recharge so soon as I will be walking around the campus.
5. Suitable for life in uni(Wi-fi or internet connection, not too bulky)
6. The best among the three($$$)
7. Can last me at least 3 years if I play my games daily

Any other notebook recommendations are welcomed(below rm3000)

Thanks guys!!!!
