Sifu please help,

I trying to create vpn server in window 7 at home so I can access my file and app at work.

after setting base on http://www.howtogeek.com/135996/how-to-cre...g-any-software/

and port forward 1723 on my streamyx router iNNATECH-W7100N.

I try to connect and it shown error 720 on client connection. (been trying window 8 and window 7).

Would like to know what really affect the performance of client PC connect to server
if a client pc access to server program(exp, database software), all performance are depend on server?

that mean if server are fast, even using p4, 256ram also will be fast?

just want to know how to efficient configure a client pc.
does processors & ram affect client pc in term of generate/viewing server report

Proccesor Issue

Hi,
I building a new rig, using processors i5-3570k + Asrock H61M/U3S3.
Problem is, it cannot boot up, fan moving, monitor remain black.

I trying to change the proccesor to i3-2120 using same spec, it work.
Please help me, is there something wrong there?
Is this mean Asrock H61M/U3S3 doesn't support overclocked CPU?
How can I solve this as both already bought

ok i found something, is this because i5-3570k using Intel HD4000 while the board only support HD3000?
Any solution for this?

I choose this because of cost to print per black A4 only 4sen per paper.

hi just want to ask,
I am using pentium 4,having P4M900-M4 motherboard and it show support PCI EX16
now I want upgrade GC, can it support all the new GC. as most of the new GC are PCI EX16 ver2.
if can does it limit to up to what speed? any one can recommend GC for me to upgrade?

btw my PC is just use the normal PSU and dun plan to upgrade

like topic, i would like to know, does brand take big part for motherboard and GC?

i see so many recommendation suggest MOBO is giga/MSI.
how about ASUS?

i see hilmax recommend Mobo:MSI H61M-P23 B3 (RM175) why not ASUS P8H61-M LX - M-ATX AIO (190)
because of the price or actually not much diff?

and for graphic card, sapphire and asus got much diff?

i can buy Sapphire HD 6790/1GD but for asus only EAH6770 DC/G/2DI/1GD for the price.

hi i want to ask, recently my company system are very very very slow.

the solution i do is using below query for every single database.

dbcc freeproccache go
dbcc dropcleanbuffers go

or at most restart server

after that it will ok back. but in few hour, it will slow again.
most of the time slow is at night, which our warehouse staff are doing DO.

the structure we have is

The main server
SQL server 2005( contain retail system database, account database, system testing dataase & etc)
account application
retail system application

User
open the retail/account system by double click shotcut in their desktop
(mean all users access to server by shotcut only and no need install anything on their pc)

is that hard disk problem, switch problem, database problem or retail system problem?

what is the step i need to do?
i know abit bout sql profiler, is there where should i begin with?
or server performance checking?

or do you all know where i can ask DB pro to solve my question?

other than that i also found out there is deadlock by using profiler, but i duno how to troubleshoot it and cant understand the deadlock graph also

hi, I am learning to configure FTP in my company.
the network infrastructure as below:
3 ISP(streamyx, unifi, my kris), 1 of the ISP consist of router&modem and the others 2 only have modem, 3 of the ISP also will connect to my firebox(firewall). From the firewall it will link to switch hub then only reach my PC.
I have done configure in the router & firebox, but seem it wont connect by outsider. Do i need any extra configuration.
what i configure is portfowarding in dlink router for port 21 and port 50000-60000. For firewall, I have set in policy manager, to allow trusted & external connection for port 21 and port 50000-60000.

in my client side(external network) when connect it show
Status: Delaying connection for 1 second due to previously failed connection attempt...
Status: Connecting to 1xx.1xx.1xx.xxx:21...
Status: Connection attempt failed with "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server".
Error: Could not connect to server

the client side is ok when I run ftp wizzard, so I assume the configuration in ftp server went wrong.

what do i still need to set in the server? example in edit-> setting-> passive mode

one more thing, the IP i key in filezilla client is the IP I saw in whatismyip.com. Is that correct?

Hi, want to ask some question regarding FTP.

The senario is , I already done create my own FTP in my PC.
I can access it from local network, now I wan access it from my home.
Anyone know how to do it, as i do not know which IP I should put in? (using whatismyip check it?)
the ftp I create is in LAN pc, and we have firewall behind which consist of 3 internet line.

if from home, I input my company internet IP, how it will recognize as my company has many LAN IP.

I have some trouble in my microsoft word allignment.
thing open good in my destop but not in my laptop.

document view using desktop, the first word all are same line,
but in laptop, some the word are deeper inside.

and I notice view from my desktop & laptop also different.
example page from desktop can see 20 line but laptop per page only can fit in 10line.
maybe it is from the paper size view, but compare both, the setting is same.

i also reinstall the MS office, plus use reg cleaner to clear registry, don't help at all.

hope some one can help, is it due to page setting or layout setting?

Hi, want to ask any sifu here PRO at AD?
i wanted to setup group policy or something similiar so that user can->

only user from dept A can access file that share by dept A (by using run -> IP xxx.xxx.x.x )
user from other dept cannot access dept A

i know it can be set @ sharing-security (remove everyone and add particular dept)
but it will not effecient if set 1 by 1 and what if they share new file.

and i am using unmanaged hub which cannot control the traffic
