GC change only/ mobo & gc

My old 8500gt died on me just now.

I got, say <500 ringgit to spend. The lower the better.

My specs:
pentium d 3ghz - currently oced to 4ghz
2gb ram ddr2
Mobo link
Power supply silverstone 500w

My thought is this: just change to a temporary mid end gc. Since my current mobo is only 4x electrical, may afraid of bottleneck, less than 500 budget is a new mobo & a decent gc. If new gc only, I was thinking hd5670.

I play games, currently more to Company of Heroes at low settings, comfortable with it as long playable.

May need some advice.

Cpu fan stopped working after bios update

Laptop model hp presario c794tu.

Just done a successful bios update from f.33 to f.35. It runs fine for awhile.

After I switched off and left it awhile and switched it on, the cpu fan does not run till now. Tried reverting back to the old bios but the results are the same.

Any ideas?

I may suspect cpu fan spoilt or worse bios problem.
