Upgrade Server2003 R2 Standard 32bit to 64bit.

Hai Guys,

I hope someone can assist me on this. I have installed Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition 32bit to my server (HP ProLiant ML370 G5) and i need to upgrade the system to 64bit.

This is because the 32bit system can only recognize up to 4GB of RAM which i have install 8GB into to server.

My question is, which is the proper way to do this upgrading procedure? Izzit just by inserting the 64bit CD installation and the wizard will lead the process or i need to wipe the whole 32bit system and do a fresh installation on 64bit?

Im sure that there are many compatibility issues if i switch from 32bit to 64bit, but can someone please hint me more about this issue.

So far this is the problem that i can think of. Im looking foward to hear from u guys soon. Thanks.
